Returned after 2 years, didnt drop the game fully and left it behind to rot, and this is how they treat him

No previous game, no demo (for this game at least, there's a short demo of one of his side projects but it's only 3 minutes and more of a tech demo imo). The dev used to update daily on twitter so that's why people are treating the dev as if he has been around for ages but in reality we have only seen conceptual art and short videos on mechanics.

Its still manageable. As long he's alive and well.. the game will come out eventually. Unlike that one NTS novel i love, still waiting to this day even tho its been almost a decade when author suddenly went missing in 2018..

The doujin he released was pretty good and he isn't the type to take peoples money without having work to show for it so I respect him for that, he should honestly just work at his own pace and not let himself get pressured too much he's doing good.
