One of the messages before only says that being able to kill Old king is recommended so I guess its fully optional (both for lore and gameplay reason).
What. My stats were actually below 10k mark, when I beat Ashes Reignited.

I kinda forgot about using unavoidable attacks and magic to deal with counterattacks so kinda? I only did Ashes 4 times before I got to Onimusha. Also I wasnt really raising stats for the purpose of Ashes, was preparing for DLC3 way too early.

aw man its been years since I touch this game. do I need to install the translation hotfix or is it already installed in the main download page
Did you not get any other endings before? Those two rings don't carry over to NG+

I just only noticed now, already did all endings A to G but I only ever looked at the rings for this ending H run since I just left all other ending saves alone.

At some point you may potentially fail, because you don't have enough percent based damage and regeneration.

Once you enter DLC3, your difficulty will reset to 0, since enemies there are pretty tough.
I didn't have any difficulties with stats 20k+ and attack 100k, and imbalanced skill called Black Slash.
But some enemies require weird strategy to beat them.
Some require percent based damage being immune to any other, some immune to unavoidable damage while having 100% evasion, so you need to imply fear on them.
Adapt and you will be fine.
