Its more a calculated guess than anything. Thematically its another aspect why out of all characters Node/Noden is one of the few characters who secretly work against TCO.
Whatever the details of Nodes core motivation are that is tied to her love and passion.
Considering Great Ones are still treated as the children & Outer Ones in BS1-2 are given parental positions.
I havent found anything ingame that would describe Node as a Elder God specifically. Majority of the time its all under the same vauge eldritch banner. Or when characters like Mabel pull out the lore drops.

There are no identical twins in the game, nor even Nug and Yeb, while the entry mentions absolute copies, as if looking into the mirror.
It sounds more like Node's children.

Anyone know of any games similar to this? I can't escape the BlackRot and I can't bear the wait anymore (Aside from Red's game).

Also I've heard of a mod for BS2 that had Toro involved in its plot, anyone know where to get it and how to play it?

Perhaps I will be a single one, who don't recommend playing fan content. You may risk mixing information from different games.
I believe it will happen... more than one time.

Though, people who played Black Souls recommend playing New Project and N. P. C. Dreams (I don't have a link, sorry, and the game has bad translation as far as I know).

For mods or fangames check out To Kill a Fairytale page 8. I posted a small list of what i found simply from searching.
Regarding the Journey of Wind and Memory mod i am only aware that there exists a chinese version. Maybe other sites have a egnlish translation. Never seen anything regarding it here besides comments asking the same questions about it.

Even the things i found i only scratched the surface for fangames. There are so many indie devs on X(Twitter) posting about their early stage fanprojects. Its really better you look for it yourself because that way you can keep track of the source/dev yourself.

-A NEW GAME heard good things about it (and the other MRJ game as well)
-N.P.C Dreams its playable but the mtl translation ruins a lot of story segments.
-Hearth of Darkness...........or something like that. It was more of a souslike fangame than BlackSouls.

Maybe there are more games like that out there by now. Its hard to find things that suck you in like BlackSouls.

Despite knowing that I will most likely be ignored, my 2 cents are unstoppable!
Personally, The Heart of Darkness is stylish, but very boring.
Also, forcing you to save progress only at the one single place in the game is a bullcrap.

Hmm... Demons Roots on the other hand... many people love it, including those who played Black Souls.
But I have a mixed feelings, and not because it has female protag.
It's just because the main character sometimes suffers Mary Sue syndrome, hihihi~
