Reread my post and I'm not saying that Black souls shoud be normie tier and be accepted widely by the public. The main point of my post is that it's "bad" that BS is getting mainstream attention due to it's fucked up nature. We know it's a fucked up story that is not NORMAL by any means. Which can easily be turned into a "devil figure" that moralists will rally against. I'm not stating that degenerate BEHAVIOR be normalized, I'm stating that it being more out in the open will put it in the crosshairs of the "normal" people that is easy to rally against. "Oh the game has pedophilia" (which many critics of this game does not know it heavily discusses as a topic). then this game is BAD. "Oh the game has rape", BAD. That's my point, the niche topics are often viewed as taboo by the public and deserves to be niche. I'm not endorsing that the topics/ viewpoints discussed by this game be normalized, I'm just saying that it SHOULD NOT BE BANNED since it's not ILLEGAL.
To the same point with a more "common" divisive topic. Is LGBT normal? For progressives it is, for conservatives it is a mental illness. So should LGBT people just not exist IRL because they are "degenerate" according to some people? There will always be different IDEALS and what is right to some may be wrong to others. Degenerate by society's standards is just a moot point of arguing. People in the 90s would consider gay people being accepted as the society turning degenerate. Some even consider it today. Same with the standards of women's clothing/ rights. Back in the day it would be considered degenerate for women to show any part of their skin, yet today women are free to openly expose themselves. It is considered "bad" back in the day if women have any kind of rights aside from being the mother in the house doing all the chores. In some countries it still is. My point is that what society/ what is deemed normal is relative to "change" depending on the current political climates/ ideology on top. Objectively speaking BS has more fucked up stories/themes compared to the game they rallied to ban against (no mercy).

Unfortunately, people can't tell the difference between fiction and reality. The funny thing is that violence is much more normalized; there are so many games with violent scenes and people don't even care, but add a sex scene and it's the end of the world for these people. But I think as long as the game doesn't become too mainstream, it won't be a problem. Fear and Hunger is doing fine on Steam, although I think it was removed from Itch.io.
The discussion is about possible censorship of the game, so it is a relevant topic, especially with the recent waves of censorship.

Everything must have a reason to be popular. I can understand popularity of LGBT and freedom of women, but why BS or No Mercy should be popular or good?
Sure, it's just way too easy to turn into a different direction, which is not optimal. You can see that by the p23rklo's example, since he is touching not only BS, but some other sensitive topics.
Wait what are you talking about, no sex scene is requiered in BS1, only in red hood woods (shitty game anyway) and like one or two in BS2
Are you just being obtuse on purpose or just plain daft? I'm saying that the game should not be popular on MAINSTREAM media since it is a game which discusses DEEPLY controversial topics. If it continues getting normie attention it could risk the game getting banned due to the same way no mercy got banned (the topics discussed is CONTROVERSIAL AND NOT NORMAL nor is widely accepted by the public). You state your ideals when arguing what is deemed normal by society and the popularity of said ideals such as the popularity of LGBT and freedom of women, yet you fail to see that said topics are also controversial to certain groups of people (conservatives and right leaning people). I'm not stating this as a part of any sort of ideology, I'm just saying that the same way you state about degenerate behavior, the same things can be said of more "normie" coded controversial topics such as women's rights and LGBT rights. The conservatives view LGBT rights as outright degenerate (not that I share such views). You preach about the wrongness of the degenerate side of the topics discussed in Black souls and act as if I'm moralizing to normalize said behavior in society, yet you are an ardent fan of this game series (I've seen you post a lot back about this game years ago and you're very active in this game thread). Yes those acts are wrong IRL, but should those topics be taboo in game discussion/ game's stories? How many depictions of rape in normal literature are "graphic" about the details? Almost none to the point that most depictions of rape are heavily sanitized while murder is A-OK to be as descriptive as possible. Does this mean I am advocating for more rape fanfictions/stories? No, but all I'm saying is they have the RIGHT to exist in niche spaces such as PORN GAME forums. Is this site meant to be normie coded?
Maybe you got a wrong impression of me on the examples I've used, but all I'm saying is to not be a hypocrite yourself. The saying "live and let live". There are many "fetishes" in this website and the main rule in this site is to be respectful of the "kinks" other people have. I don't judge anyone for like certain type of people or for doing certain acts, specially if it's on a game (does not hurt any person IRL). Sure some of the fetishes are more "deplorable" but as long as they do not act out IRL with the things they see in their games then they are fine with their own bedside kinks. It's common for LGBT people/women to morally crusade and side with the people willing to easily lynch them out of existence. They start to think they are accepted by society and forget that they were once deemed "morally reprehensible" by society even by today's standards some people still hold those views (if you still think I'm a bigot by the examples I've used then there is no hope in continuing this conversation). Such as the example I gave about them morally crusading against no mercy (like I said it's not the game getting banned that irks me but the principle of banning games, that game is SHIT but banning games will set precedent to ban GOOD games). My point in utilizing LGBT and women as an example is that those are things that are considered "bad and any person with such thoughts are "mentally ill/deranged" back in the day. Women having opinions 100-200 years ago is bad specially if they have strong convictions. LGBT people are often derided as grooming children and source of "degeneracy" in communities, some even beaten physically just for existing which is a more common sentiment back 30-50 years. Some people still hold said views today. There will always be something that society may deem unacceptable but they deserve to exist in their own niche spaces. I'm just irked by the irony of the "minority" that was considered "degenerate" from before have the galls to call something as taboo, degenerate and advocate for banning of stuff only when it FITS their Ideals. The adage of "censorship is okay when it supports my political/ideological beliefs" is a flawed way of thinking since they are as bad as the other side that they are against. As long as things are not ILLEGAL (definition of illegal also varies by country/ culture) then any kind of censorship must be fought back against. Censorship is a double edged sword that once it is used it will cut both ways.
Games are getting banned, burying your head in the sand and preventing discussion even with it comes to hard truths is just lying down and accepting the people wanting to censor things that you like. Not discussing said things and living in apathy can lead to said games dying due to lack of sales, censorship in games and being more "restrained" in the topics the games may portray.
One famous example of making things "illegal" is prohibition in the US. The US tried to ban selling alcohol due to "concerned mothers". It lead to all kinds of shit that ended in censorship/ banning the breads and circuses from the masses failing.
In a side note, the kinks in Black souls is not to my liking, I've played this game purely for the story/ gameplay. The art is not really enticing. But I've never disabled H scenes because there is actual story in most of them. Sure some of the H scene dialogue is pure wank fantasy, but there is some dialogue that reflects Grimms state of mind/ there are some little lore drops in between the wank dialogue. Which some purists that played this game easily dismiss as "cope".
Also calling me a pirate as if that's a bad thing when majority of companies DESERVE payment with the way they treat their consumers as disposable piggy banks (I'm not saying all of them are like that, but majority of BIG companies are like that). In contrary to indie games like niche games as H games where majority of the devs are purely making stuff for the sake of ART. I always support indie games and buy them on another account if their quality is good enough/ I am a fan of the developers. One such example are Oneone1 games that get translated on steam, I buy them day 1 despite the games being released here. Not everyone here is a pirate nor are they reprehensible for doing so. Companies hold too much power and consumers are fighting back for what little rights they have (some games having no way to preserve them when they go offline and the only way to do that is through PIRACY). I ain't losing sleep over CEO/companies losing goods. Digital goods are unlimited and no actual physical product is stolen. They would like to normalize that buying things is not owning, then Piracy is not stealing by their same logic.
The core of my point is: I hope we treat Black souls as like Fight Club. "We don't talk about Fight club" openly on normie spaces (since it can bring the EYE OF SAURON into nuking this game to oblivion/ harass the developer). There are so many people openly talking about this game on normie spaces thus it may attract "unwanted attention".

In the end all you can clamor is personal insults instead of engaging in meaningful discussion. Shouldn't have replied to someone discussing things if you will be annoyed by them replying with large walls of texts to explain their point of view/ reach a midpoint towards understanding.

The dev is probably still working in a different project and barely touched anything BS3 related, so I think it's to soon for something like that. But I'm not exactly that well informed about it.
There are two side games in plan before BS3: Red Dead Hood and another game staring the demonic princesses from BS1.
