Did you make this scene or import it? I see lots of similar-looking plants.Too much geometry. 12 GB GPU is too small for such a scene.
The blender automatically gave out only a measly 50 samples when I put on 5000.

P.S. Is it worth trying Cinema 4D? The blender starts hanging wildly on millions of polygons.
Seperate the plants into different objects (For grass, make a small clump of grass with roots close together "one plant" for the purposes of this exercise.) Your goal is to make just 1 example of each plant type, then delete the rest of the plants in the scene. In object mode, press Alt+D to create a linked duplicate of your one tree. Rotate and scale it so it looks different. Do it again. And again.
As long as you're using Alt+D and not Shift+D to copy them, they are all the same tree, as far as your graphics card is concerned. Edit one, and you edit them all. More importantly, they will use less memory. If you're rendering on the graphics card, they will take up less video memory. This can lead to faster render times and more stable performance. The down-side is you will need to be creative in order to make your 1 tree look different in all the different positions. Think like a realtime video game developer. Those completely black plants in the very back of the scene could be a single texture. Etc.
Good luck.
