Is it just me? I've tried about six restarts, trying out various settings for MC, but I couldn't get past the first day of the mission. Every single time she "crack"ed and game over.

The game should warn you before you begin the main mission if the stability of your character is dangerously low, and let you improve it from that screen.

Also, don't make mistake of rushing into the mission from the first day -- your MC is tired from travel and then if you choose to immediately visit a club you'll end up with stacked attribute penalties which can easily drop MC's stability in the negative. Try to take a day off first, go shopping, attend orientation course and only then see if you can proceed further.

(the lack of feedback regarding MC's current state is something that'll hopefully be addressed down the road)

BTW, will be it ever possible to go High School - Gap Year - College and then to a main game without it ending pre-maturely?
And here we have the hilarious dichotomy: other people who want *more* Prologue.

But the answer is yes, 0.7 will allow Claire to go through the whole prologue.
Dipped back into the game recently for the first time in a long while, but it still ended after the prologue so assumed that was it.

Check for updates; there was an issue causing Claire to crack effectively immediately that got addressed in a hotfix.

Do also note, though, that the bulk of the work has been in the prologue and fleshing it out. The mission framework is quite barebones at the moment and still ends quickly.

Can you post a save from the very start of the mission? Before you make any choices. And maybe one from where you get the mind break.

Hello, is there any way to completely fail high school? Or does the game automatically do whatever it can to pass you?

Oh there absolutely is. In fact, it was happening to people too often originally, so the guideposts were shifted. Avoid doing things that increase your Learning Stat (more or less straightforward).

IIRC you also have option to plain drop out and not bother finishing it?

Second save is going home which got me my first mind break.
OK, i see the problem. Your MC has base confidence of -1 and there was a bug in v0.5 of the game, where it'd make Claire automatically crack even if she didn't suffer any actual mindbreak.

This has been partially patched in v0.6 from what i can see, but not quite.

CassieBare there's a logic error here:
HTML:
    <<if $mindBreak gt $Stats.Traits['Confident'].value>>
It was all too much for me. I couldn't go [[on|END]].
    <<else>>
//...
It should be checking first whether there is an actual mind break (if $mindBreak gt 0 and etc) otherwise if Claire has negative Confidence then she will break immediately, even if mindBreak count is at 0 and regardless of how much stability she has. Since 0 is technically greater than a negative number, so condition is met.

Best to use "Save to Disk" option for any of those games, anyway. Saves you from the possibility one (or few of them) with large save sizes blow up your storage space and leave you in this situation.
