Is trying the previous version worth it?

Literally says BEFORE REMAKE on OP. So please, if you believe this report, the thread OP for using REMAKE lol. It's like you guys can't read, and expect everyone to read 60 pages of forum content when they want to know what in the world is going on. Also, "swapping game engines" is drum roll A REMAKE by definition lol. Otherwise, call it a SEQUAL sigh... Either way, report the upload post as it says REMAKE in all caps like that, not only in the download link section but also in the update notes section.

Do that then you can complain about "reading" sigh.

This is kind of bad news. They made 1k a month before that, which is more than most devs make, I think. Honestly, this is gonna hurt more than help the dev, and was a bad decision. It's not even better, it's worse in every way now. Sigh.

The previous version is actually the only version. Don't know why they are calling this a remake, it's a demo of what looks like an upcoming season2/part2. Shouldn't have even be given a version number let alone v0.8 it's just a demo. It only takes place in one room with Karen and you can't leave that room.

Remakes are getting annoying. A lot of games are remakes, they almost start from scratch. This is a waste of time. I also don't understand the point of making a remake specifically for this game.

the remake is interesting, and i honestly dont mind the two different art styles (carton/realistic). however, the story is already convoluted and it seems the dev has written himself in a corner

Okay, i used the word remake and didn't think about it but it is not remake from scratch. Version 0.8 is just demo of the next part of the story with changed visual engine from HS1 to HS2, that's it.

Its not a remake, the main page is misleading

This is a small test demo, the stuff about getting stabbed and needing to recover will be shown in the upcoming update which is being split in two cause how big it will be. The demo will be added into this update once it is released. It was just released ahead of the update to show the HS2 models and animation

Its not a remake its a demo showcase for the next season. The dev will get to a stopping point in current story then switch to HS2 and continue the story

Yeah not sure why, the dev said on discord that its just a showcase of the future/next season after getting to a stopping point on the current story. Basically just to showcase new models and test the animations

It was inevitable, the game was very, very good, good games are always censored.
Typically, developers use the fame of their uncensored games to gain followers and then make a censored game to put on Steam and make some easy money. It's a shame, but at least I managed to see the last NTR scene brutal sex

Harmful? I don't think so. They always make more money. Players are complacent and continue to support them, since most don't feel the pain of losing money because they're from "first-world" countries where money is easy to make. I've seen plenty of censored "remake" games, and they always do well.

1. I'm pretty sure Honey Select 2 games can't even be sold on Steam so updating to the new models would not allow it to be sold there
2. The NTR scene you are referencing was a fan commission, doesn't have anything to do with censorship as far as i'm aware.

The new models are horrible; it's generic. Isn't that NTR scene from the game? If future NTR scenes were going to be this good, it's a shame this remake exists.
