what happened is the payment processors for Patreon came in and SAID "if this type of content stays on your site, we will NOT continue to work with you." It was not Patreon that is saying it but their payment processors, those that RUN VISA/MASTERCARD/AMEX/DISCOVER/PAYPAL etc. This has happened to many adult sites through out time. Mr. Dots came under fire, Nverijos, Lewd Lab, and SEVERAL others came under fire when the shit hit the fan 3-4 years ago and mr. dots decided to remove DMD from Patreon and place Melody there, 2 months melody work then 1 month DMD work, so even though he pulled it, it made DMD become a quarterly update project. Since Patreon really doesn't look in to the code they don't see the taboo=false/taboo=true to get the change of script.

actually under Patreon rules because of this issue that is not possible. The rules state that if the project is on Patreon, even if it is a different build and has the prohibited content (on subscribe star or otherwise) the patreon account can be removed because it is the same game. it'd have to be named and completely different. this is why the games that have the "PATCHES" do not have the patches made by the devs as they can not control what others do.
Every piece of new information I receive (although they make good business sense) makes me disagree with their model even more.
Patreon doesn't care if the separate build is only available elsewhere. They have a history of being overbearing to the point of absurdity. For example, adult artists who use the platform have been directly informed that if they don't remove specific pieces of art from all platforms, they would be removed from Patreon. There was a big run of that happening mid last year, which caused another wave of people to jump ship to SubscribeStar.
