comparing my previous memory of the spawn of wild ones compared with the current one; when we had world-level, a high world level would mean we had plenty spawns of epic or legendary nephelyms with tons of gold traits. now,with essence we hardly get anything higher than rare if at all, and only increase slightly the chance of having a gold trait or two.

It used to, a long time ago. But this game's developer is not fond of concepts like "rewards for player work" or "convenience" and instead tirelessly works to make this game more and more of an endless unrewarding grindfest with every change and update.
Of course, anyone knows that creating artificial grind barriers is a very easy way to extend the time players play your game, AAA games have been doing it for a long time. Imagine actually putting in the work to create new animations, face models or hell, even hair models.
