Same. I used to support derelict when this game was really progressing and we were getting good meaty monthly updates but not anymore. I think he put out this lip service update because he lost five hundred patreons in the last two months and each month it is dropping more and more.

I am putting my attentions onto games that might be worth some pennies of support. Like this little gem that has popped up out of nowhere. A couple of ambitious people are going for a full blown 3d quasi pokemon game.

do you know other similar games? I liked the sense of freedom that Nephelym Breeders gave but this game is now dead and the developer is taking the piss out of us... guys wake up and stop supporting this game

There aren't many that are on the same par as BOTN, even if the game has ground to halt in development, it is probably the best we got at the moment. There are or were other projects that were just as ambitious. Fipetopia caught my eye because I am impressed with what's been done so far at an early stage.

Another one is Sapphire Safari which has been progressing very well and has some good, talented and dedicated developers behind it. It has progressed insanely well since the start of development. Think hentai version of pokemon snap. (Futa optional). https://f95zone.to/threads/sapphire-safari-v0-25hf2-gog-kinky-fridays.87094/

Mating Season was a good starter I was paying attention to, but it seems development on that is well and truely buried.

Tame it too shows promise although I think dev is very slow. I haven't checked up on it in a long time so it may have progressed better than last I saw. https://f95zone.to/threads/tame-it-too-easter-special-manka-games.223966/

Other than that there isn't much else I would consider similar, aside from cloud meadow or breeding farm if you're not too fussed about pixel art.

If you can breed various hybrids in WildLife, then, maybe, yes (gameplay-wise).

If you can't, then certainly not.

But if you mean switching to UE5, then no, BotN is still sticking to UE4, fortunately.
Wait. BotN still uses UE4? Really? Yai.
I will not suffer in that my microwave toaster cannot open it.

Is there a way to fix my saves so I can use them in the current version? The game hasn't really changed :cautious:

As I had said to another user here (RubyZeronyka) quite some time ago.

They should stop thinking that all versions of games work for everything, for big companies, yes. they have servers to store, as well as trying to fix the spaghetti code they make so that there are no bugs

But on the other hand, there are independent games and made by normal people (like most of the published games). Where they recommend you and make an alert in red letters. "Using old games can cause game errors".

And in my experience, I had those errors when playing Love at first tail . My save game was in an event with the mother. But having a more updated version (I deleted the game and forgot it for almost half a year xd), when I tried to open it... it sent me to another event. As if I had met certain conditions or the game did not know where to leave me. jskjs.

Your BoTN game on Steam (version 0.761.0) will not work for version 0.761.6. or for the new version 0.761.7

On Steam is not implemented the moth girl. who gives you new clothes.

Y... I don't think you can save your save data. . . A pity, but it's a price that everyone risks here. If it could be saved, some traits could be saved, like the evil trait that the harpies gave you when you made love to them xd You could only take it off if you got into the water where the Mermaid was.

short version: This isn't the official release but a (forever in development) alpha/beta build. Save files not carrying over is a widely known risk, so stop getting bent out of shape over it or only play completed games.

unrelated: Revenant is so adorable but I for the life of me have the worst luck playing as her. Whenever I have a good run, I can't find any bonk weapons..... and when I do get the POWA of oversized bonking....things tend to go bad.

And yet some users here fail to understand the nature of this game and why having saves carrying to new version is crucial for not having the game eventually dying out of tiresome of always having to start from scratch every X amount of updates cause the developer forces the game to not load save files from older game versions when the only thing that those need are to be on the same or higher version. No calls for any other ingame instructions.

We're not talking about a game who's mechanics are being absolutely overhauled to the very inception on how they are made and the world completely redesigned every X amount of updates to justify that. It's the same capturing base logic, same base map, same base characters, same base concepts, same story (or more like lack of), but the only thing that changes is that on update say 0.1 the vanilla playtime's grind might be 2 hours while on version 0.4 the grind might equal 4 literal days. So the fact that the game gets progressively more and more grindy makes it so save files compatibility is a REQUIREMENT.

The base point that a lot of you defenders of Derelict's BS are missing is not that we're asking for a perfectly capable saves carrying compatibility but rather the fact that you're not even given the choice of trying to use an old save file on a newer version at all unless you rely on third party software, just to find out that a simple version number modifier is all it takes for the game to be loaded and unless in a very few cases those never breaking. I have been dealing with this method since I noticed the whole save wipes issue and found that on save edit you could work around that issue. Only ONCE I found it not working and it was between two versions that broke the Wild Nephs spawning because those seemed to have changed or something, and it's still the only case that I can think of of stuff breaking and it was only on that particular aspect that things broke. You could still fuck around with your captured nephs, create hybrids, harvest their resources and sell them, even interact with the new NPCS, just don't think on capturing NEW wild nephs on those. Is a good scenario? No, but Derelict just doesn't even give players that choice at all. And don't come at me with the stupid thing of "he does this because he doesn't wanna troubleshoot faulty saves" when this MF releases a minor hotfix update every half a year at best.

I've played games that had completely revamped to the foundation their core systems like absolutely changing entirely the base map you even start the damn game over and you still could load the save files. With errors everywhere, sure, but you still could! The main difference between any of those and here is that in those starting a new save file was HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, but not a hard requirement. Wanted to fuck around with an old save? Sure! But expect everything to be glitched like hell, tho if you fancy that, have fun! On BotN however, unless you rely on SaveEdit or a similar external tool, starting a new save file is MANDATORY. And again....
- On a grindy AF game that after each update gets grindier.
- On a game that still lacks mod support, probably cause the author knows that the first thing that modders would add would be balls to futas, which he so despises for "reasons".
- On a barely updated every half a year game (wish I was exageating but last public update was about a year and a quarter ago) that after each update barely adds anything substantially new.
- On a project that not only refuses by both it's dev and most of it's fanbase to neither have saves compatibility but neither a system to at least port part of your progress to the new versions. Cause I can understand wanting to force players to deal with the progression BS, sure. But not being able to carry the nephs they already captured or bred? Specially if they're uniquely looking hybrids that only spawn in a very specific way ONCE in a lifetime? And the best you could do is try to recreate them in a new save file surely looking different?

Is not only the issue itself but the refusal to acknowledge by the dev and it's diehard backers what gets most fans pissed. Tho again, not the first time I felt like while this game may had potential, it's way past time to ditch it since it's absurd that you get to have a superior experience today at the very thing BotN offers in modded versions of Skyrim or Palworld than this game by default. So, see you in 2026 or maybe 2027 in the next public update I guess....

To be a devil's advocate, it's nice cheats are added to help with the grind. But ...I don't want a band-aid to fix the problems.
Yes, I could very well just poof into existence all the money and buy up all the barns again.
Again...
I can just go around capturing the nephelyms I so desire without any complications.
But, I don't think I will ever find a replacement for my favorite cow, "HugeAssTittyFuck."
She was my bae. My muse. My flame.
Wherever she went was a beautiful scent. I invented vagisil so she could have the perfect aroma wafting from her muff as she strolls by.
Not only did I lose the lovely pheromone fragrances beseeched upon my favorite piece of fuck meat, I also lost my drive due to the death of the love of my waifu.
Rip HugeAssTittyFuck. Your big 'ol pussy will be remembered.

Does anyone know how to increase player stats beyond just leveling? I'm currently level 62 and still at D everything, and just 39 points in all stats...

Good to see I haven't missed much since the cockblock update... I mean, not good, but certainly expected. Unfortunately my standards got higher too.

To upgrade ranks of mc stats mate with someone that has higher rank in that stat than your mc. For instance - if your mc has D in fertility, find someone with at least C in fertility and fuck them at the breeding ranch thing, eventually your fertility will upgrade (even if your lvl was maxed it will still work {unless it was changed which i doubt})

I don't defend any of Derelict's BS.
But I also don't encourage the ongoing stupidity of his angry fans or his diehard fans.
This game is basically dead, new versions are honestly not worth playing when you're playing the older version (even more so when you add in key parts of this crash out of yours).
Clothes NPC? Awesome, not like I can't do that with an editor.
New colors for Neph? Nope, can do that too.
Are there new Nephs to tame? No.
New hybrids to breed? Nah.
New positions to learn to break up the boredom? Naur.
Has dev added anything remotely good justifying playing an "updated" version? You fucking know the answer to that yet still get upset because you can't bring over save files? Just continue playing the previous damn version you've already settled in! What the hell are you expecting from the updates when NOTHING of importance has been added in literal years!

I'm still playing the very last update before the change from worlds to essences because it's just not worth it and that's going on 3 years old. And in 2026 and 2027 in the next public update....it still won't be.

How about downdates?
I think that's fair all things considered.

If they have gone this far in that many levels without getting ranked up, it's possible they didn't update their game. IIR the latest update fixed this.
Shouldn't have been broken for over a year in the first place!

ugh, that might be. Gonna look if the newest works with my save. Though I've been focussing on leveling world levels now, and my pc was highest level, so I mainly used him to level others to lvl 42
