I think the creator might be stupid. There is no one at patreon that is playing this game and going "wtf this foxen is breeding with the foxen from the same parents!?!?!?!" They only got upset because he explicitly mentioned incest in multiple posts. All he would have to do is remove the mention of incest and keep the game the same.

if it does it doesn't tell you and that is what I am going by. I've avoided them because i see them as pointless except to get my key stones. meh not saying you are incorrect and you probably ARE correct but I could not see a specific listing of what you get for it.

It doesn't tell you, but your money does go up when you turn one in.

Sounds about right. If he was to move to SubscibeStar, Patreon wouldn't be able to tell DH to remove it.
SS is remarkably okay with fiction, incest included. Developers that don't want to remove it always consider the move.
I wonder if Steam is going to bend over let Patreon dicktate to them what to allow on their platform.
Current Steam build is still 0.751.1 so DH might be getting a wee bit antsy over his choice of platform.

This was when they were actually a crowdfunding platform and not a "do as we say for your money" platform.
One big reason why I vastly prefer SS.

This is why we have so many games here with the "Landlady/Roommate" scenario with the actual relationships being restored by patches (usually third-party but restores the game as intended).
MrDots' Dating My Daughter came under fire too.
And there are so many more that just vanished without a trace.
Apartment #69 had to have a vast swathe of content fully removed because it violates their ToS (also restored by patching).

what happened is the payment processors for Patreon came in and SAID "if this type of content stays on your site, we will NOT continue to work with you." It was not Patreon that is saying it but their payment processors, those that RUN VISA/MASTERCARD/AMEX/DISCOVER/PAYPAL etc. This has happened to many adult sites through out time. Mr. Dots came under fire, Nverijos, Lewd Lab, and SEVERAL others came under fire when the shit hit the fan 3-4 years ago and mr. dots decided to remove DMD from Patreon and place Melody there, 2 months melody work then 1 month DMD work, so even though he pulled it, it made DMD become a quarterly update project. Since Patreon really doesn't look in to the code they don't see the taboo=false/taboo=true to get the change of script.

Patreon is only dictating to those that are publishing and using their payment processors. Steam is not letting Patreon do anything, they have nothing to do here. this is old news though.

Patreon doesn't care if the separate build is only available elsewhere. They have a history of being overbearing to the point of absurdity. For example, adult artists who use the platform have been directly informed that if they don't remove specific pieces of art from all platforms, they would be removed from Patreon. There was a big run of that happening mid last year, which caused another wave of people to jump ship to SubscribeStar.

I'd sooner support games on SS at this point. They seem to actually value the creator's original vision.

Not a monopoly. Just gross overreach of power. They weren't forcing artists to leave other platforms. They were just telling artists that they weren't allowed to post content that was against Patreon terms of service on any platform, at all. That's the kind of managing someone's private life that generally happens with media personalities and the like, not porn artists online.
