I've done a bit of testing and regardless of Trait Level, particular traits, or type of nephelym, this error pops up consistently.
It's likely just a minor hiccup that will be fixed soon, like Spillthebeans said.

Yep apparently the devn got a bit careless with the hybrids and all, so he made a few upsies. There should be a 7033 hotfix up now.

The game is in aplha version. Not sure why you are expecting a stable game.
Save wipes are quite normal for alpha build games after big changes.

Anyone else getting a black screen on launch? I've been able to play previous versions no problem.
Then no. Although when the game loads in it hangs a bit on a black screen. Wait a bit for it to load the menu.
