Damn lots of rape. Instead of worrying about it I think I will just avoid the game. Rape was definitely intended to be core content, and I'm not a fan of that at all. Especially with female MC.
Shame cause Lesbo games are few and far between, and the models look great.

I don't think the dev intends it to be "core" I think this is just the default state of Russia ending up in the game without the dev realising what it says. It feels to me like they thought "Obviousy rape will happen if X/Y/Z so I should include that in the game world". Same with the smoking, I'm assuming they don't know how unnerving that mechanic seems,, I don't think I know anyone who smokes any more, it's been over 10 years since I've though about people who smoke.

The dev seems to have put a lot of effort into rounding out the story and personalities of the characters but at the same time, culturally, to me, it is really wierd.

No, it's not only lesbian, there are M/F scenes too. The relationships are optional. The rape events are avoidable if you know where and when they happen: don't search money inside the laundry machine, don't get completely drunk in the bar after midnight, don't go to the park after midnight when a group of people are there and there's another two I think that I don't remember why they happen.(One happens in the basement after a revenge but I don't remember why it unlocks)

I have no idea what I'm doing in this game, but I clicked around to various locations and hypothetically progressed the story a bit. Then I went home and clicked in my room and clicked all the little blue indicators. Then went to Valerie's room and did the same thing. Then went to the Kitchen and did the same thing, and now it saves.

Simple answer yes you can.

Longer answer she goes into a shitty depression cycle that takes about 2 weeks (I think, it was a long time) to clear if you don't take pills. I don't know why I didn't take the anti-depressants, but taking them shortens it.

It is a serious mood hit though, but worth to be clear of them in the end.
