I've played this game for well over a year, but with the last couple of updates, was encountering numerous bugs and couldn't trigger various quests. So with this update I started fresh and...lots of problems.
Purchasing: Apples, energy drinks, flour, bread, salami, cheese, sugar, wet wipes, birth control pills...nothing. They never show in inventory. They don't show up in the kitchen, neither do they show in the drawer in Alex's room.
I can see Alex's sister in the college even though that quest is a long way from being triggered.
That's what I found so far.

You talk to her on weekday morning outside college or I don't know if it triggers only after the second concert where Alex invites all her close friends and relatives. Try weekday between 8am-8.59am. If it doesn't work then try after the concert invitation.

Go to victor ask for a job, he will tell you to hand out the flyers in afternoon for 3-4 days in a row, after that talk with him, and he will tell you to make deliveries for his boss, the boss will contact Alex himself and provide the information about them.

what does it take, to trigger the homeless guy event for the basement key? regardless of what i do it just wont trigger,.. and the only assumption i have is, that i am missing something.

that would be the problem thanIt does not rely on your first concert at all. It is 100% totally random encounter any time after Barbara tells you to find your place for a studio. I've found it literally minutes after in 1 playthrough and months after in another.
I may have found a fix, but use it at your own risk. I have found that 'cookbook' object is a list of items that are expected to have a 'plan' (recipe). For each item that I have found in my 'cookbook', there was a duplicate (having same name, image etc.) which didn't have a 'plan'. And since game expects the 'plan', it crashes. I have filtered these duplicates out by typing following line in console*. I have no idea about possible side-effects of removing those items. After executing line below, I have ended up with 4 recipes (spring rolls, pizza, sandwich, fried eggs) that let me cook the food (and I didn't lose my ingredients).

How do I start getting Alex's hideout set up? I thought I just went to the alley, but haven't found anything.
