If the 0.1 sucks it deserves an honest review to let people know the .1 sucks
if it gets reworked or remastered than all of the accurate current reviews that would come would then change and influence the overall rating score. These guys just put out a 0.1 with a ton of issues. So many other devs put out .1 ones which have way less issues than this. It seems your just defending this game as you "Knowing the artist on a personal level " but the art isnt even the one being flamed its the writing the majority has issues with.

I don't write reviews, but the people that do, should update their reviews in every update so people can see if the product is better or worse, if they don't, that's on them. But not criticizing and reviewing it fairy just because it's a 0.1 also doesn't make sense. People should know what they can expect from the game based on its reviews, if this game had a 4 or 5 star rating overall, people would think it is a masterpiece already, which it isn't.

In my opinion you should always vote for the potential you see in a first release, not how it is right now, that's just not fair to the Game.

Each review is a personal opinion, there's guidelines but personally i see every review as a personal note of how the reviewer sees the game, some reviewers use clear formats to give points to rendering, story and whatever, but i've seen too many 5 star reviews for just liking a game and too many 1 stars for just not liking it, neither doing justice to the games in question.

For me the star system has no value, i prefer to read why you think a game is good and what could be better, one-sided opinions "nothing good" or "nothing bad" are just useless...
More often it's about not liking the theme of the game then about the actual quality of the different aspects of the game...

Reviews using ratings for any future potential they (hope or expect to) see is okay, aslong they make note of that, in the end it's just their personal opinion of the game, it's not like it's michelin stars being rewarded here....
Reviews just rating on what is currently in the game are just as fair, effectively you can't judge content that's just not there now.

I completely forgot about this game to be honest, but after getting through the "trying too hard to be funny" intro, I remembered that I've actually played a demo version of it a few months ago and since it was still in my hard drive (since June), I apparently liked it, so I kept playing.

Well, it's not bad, I can definitely see potential in this one, but as it is right now it's not good either.
To be fair it started off nicely, it seemed like it would be an interesting game, the plot is somewhat unique, the MC looks his age and not like a 12 year old pretending to be an adult and most of the girls are good looking.
Then the devs started throwing in drama from every direction, just for the sake of drama. I mean, you can't have every single person you meet in this game having some kind of deep emotional trauma. After a while it just felt forced, over the top and the constant inner monologues didn't really help.
I get the devs want us to know what the girls are thinking, but they went overboard, ended up overexplaining everything and after a certain point when you read more thoughts than actual dialogues that move the story forward, it honestly can get really boring. That made the game feel way too slow-paced. Honestly, after seeing that the next update will be out in 4-6 months, the first thing that came to mind was that we'll probably get the MC to talk to Nessa again around 2025 and I wondered how many hours of her depressing thoughts we'll have to go through untill then...

There's no need for me to point out everything I personally didn't like, since most of those things were already mentioned by others, but come on now guys... A lawyer blackmailing another lawyer, who also happens to be a friend of their boss' daughter... Not to mention that Benoit has more to lose than Grace.
Then Alice is apparently Tianna's daughter, but Tianna never mentions to the MC that her daughter goes to the same college he'll be attending and Alice never points out that their "mothers" share the same name, after the dean asked him his mother's name, while she was standing right next to him... I might be wrong but I don't think Tianna is the most common name out there.

Anyway... I guess all we can do right now is wait and see where this story is going...

Wow. Writer is absolutely unhinged and incapable of separating his work from himself. As such, to critique the art is to critique the artist. It's a strong indication of inexperience--on top of the issues such as inconsistent POV already pointed out.

Hopefully the other members of the team can salvage the 3d assets + renders and can reinvent the project.

I downloaded the game on the 20th as I was interested in checking it out just based on the renders and overview, but haven't gotten the chance to get into it.
