At least the latest patch (and probably before) does account for time travel. I just tried, sent a girl on a two-day quest, jumped three days into the future and
voila, she was back like a dog with a frisbee.
It might be it's a legacy save's issue, a deeper problem, or something different. There are actually several layers of events in the event queue system, so all kinds of weird side effects are possible. But I think unless we get a current save that specifically exhibits the 'away for good' issue, there's not much that can be done about it.
Can't someone upload the latest game including the patch so there's just one thing to download and install? Is it that complicated a procedure?
No more than installing the patch in the first place. It
is tedious and wasteful of bandwidth.
One
could ask the F95 uploaders to apply the patch the game first, since they're rehosting the whole thing anyway. They tend to be overworked people, though.
