Hello again, and Happy New Year!
This week marked the early release of
v19 (check it out

), and work has officially begun on
v20, with most of the writing already completed. That said, the bulk of my time this week was spent continuing the visual rework of the earlier game. All of the renders for
Day 1 are now finished, though, due to my
less-than-stellar habit of not saving every individual scene, Days 1–4 largely have to be reconstructed from scratch. As you can imagine, that slowed things down a bit more than I would’ve liked.
And the hits don’t stop coming! If you’ve been following development for a while, you might remember the looming threat of moving hanging over everything… well, that time has arrived. Part of me considered delaying v20 by an extra week, but I ultimately felt that wouldn’t be fair to those who subscribed under the current release schedule, and it would also be the first delay I’ve ever had. So instead, I’ve decided to simply lock in.
Crises aside, I’ll be rolling out a
partial v19 update sometime this week, featuring the new Day 1 visuals. There’s also been a small amount of dialogue rework in that section, nothing major, just some light polish.
Revisiting those early visuals this past week was… harrowing. Day 1 contains some of my very first renders, after all. Honestly, it really speaks to the resilience and good nature of my players that so many of you looked past them and stuck around long enough to be reading this very devlog. Thank you for that, your patience and kindness truly speak to your greatness! And who knows, maybe in a year or two I won’t look back on today’s visuals with the same level of disdain.
But that’s enough rambling for one devlog. I hope you enjoyed your quarterly glaze, next week I’m back to being a tsundere! Jokes aside, thanks as always for checking in, and I’ll see you again next week.
To close things out, here are some renders to celebrate the New Year. And just like Christmas, it involves more dates~ which one do you choose? Either way, the alts and conclusions for these dates are waiting for you over on
