Yeah, metalblinga (the dev) just posted on Patreon and SubscribeStar yesterday that they're finally back on track. Also, there was a release (v0.5.51) on Jan 26, so it's been only 4 months since... and the dev had some really hard times they went through for those months. I hope metalblinga is well and able to move forward as they want.
That is the go to for devs...yet the keep getting the monthly patreon or subscribe stars payments...I never do that until the game is complete unless is a dev that stays on track month or bi monthly on updates

Meh, feel however you want. Every single dev, despite trends you see, is an individual. As such, you can't predict their word or actions based on any other dev out there. You can assume something about them, but that's really all it is: assumption.
Yes the new update dropped on ss, patreon today. In a month Steam will be updated i believe according to the release schedule.

Ngl, might be like 2 months from now
I'm currently doing a lot of story/quest planning for chapter 3, and there's a lot to cover. (But I'll be making all future chapters a lot shorter and to the point. The game is getting too long.)
After the writing is done, I can start releasing updates again bi-weekly or monthly.
