To damage clothing, lose the initial battle and get into the H-scene battle, repeatedly. You can escape and still have the damage apply.

I didn't notice this until I was digging around the code, as during the playthrough I just went with whatever had the highest stats, but the vestiges tell of a background story in the game, vestiges being "remnants of a will".
There was an adventuring party who went into the tentacle cave and were wiped out.
The will of a female adventurer who stepped into the cave. There are traces of a careful investigation in the vicinity, and a strong sense of mission can be felt. At the end, something caught her by surprise, and the fear while getting dragged into the depths of the cave is all that lingers before it cuts off.

A woman knight's will remains in a badly damaged sword. It looks like it has been stuck in the tentacle for a long time, but it seems to have become separated from its wielder in a different area. A strong fighting spirit still dwells in the blade, but you can also sense the regret of having failed to fulfill her purpose.

Underrated game but I rarely find these kind of game so we take what we can take.

The game is always easy. Level attack, then luck. Use fireball for every fight. Rest if you are near half mp. Keep mana pots for late game. Get a will with high attack. When you go fight the final boss have full Mp and fireball it to death.
