Does the vampire-girl from the bar have any stuff you can do after finding out that she IS a vampire?

Near as i can tell, things just advance occasionally while you sleep, leading to the collar and meeting her 'brother'
Is there a way to end this path after getting brainwashed, or is it permament? Am I heading towards some sort of bad-end here?

Is it just my impression or has the amount of people who actually want to use their brains and figure things out for themselves dangerously decreased?
I can't speak for everyone, but often I feel this way as a result of having access to so many incomplete games. I'm interested enough in interactive pornography to play a game while it's incomplete (and honestly, that's the only way to play over half of these games), but I don't always have confidence in the storytelling or the eroticism of an incomplete game to be willing to invest myself in the exploration and the puzzles.

It's a sad cycle resulting from burning myself out on too many incomplete or low effort porn games, that will inevitably lead me to burning myself out even more on porn games as I immerse myself less and less into each.

That being said, Caliross instantly sucked me in, and I only checked the walkthrough after I'd done everything, to see if there was any cool shit I missed.

but how XD, i've tried talking to all the npc and interacting with the altar and money bowl, but no option to pray comes up?
Are you even in the right church? The one in the same area as the adventuer/mage guilds, in the main city?
There's a big glowing sparkle sitting on one of the pews, you click it and you pray for cock.

To be fair, there's also a church in the desert town, AND one in the slums, so I could see why you might be in the wrong place.
But no, exit your house and run north until you literally smack into a building. That should be your church.

Is there any way to adjust the game resolution so that it's not a tiny window in the middle of the screen? My resolution is 2560 x 1600. I haven't been using Windows for very long, so I have no idea if this is a possible thing or not. Back when I used os x, I could usually just double click the window or drag it out however I want for most apps.

I wonder whats up with the devs allergy to walkthroughs. Is it that hard when you have the design documents for everything?
Well, if you really want to know why I didn't write it myself, it's because converting my notes (which I shared openly) into a walkthrough is still a fair amount of work, for something that doesn't improve the game (but since people ask for help a lot, I guess I should have wrote one from the beginning, instead of just answering people's individual questions all the time). Also, I'd prefer players to explore the game and find things on their own, rather than follow a guide (it took time to create these maps and puzzles, so you'd better enjoy them even when you get stuck!!! :p).

Of course, it's also because I am lazy, and I find it to be the most mind-numbing thing to do, honestly.

There is times where the optimal next step was "talk to every npc on the map hoping it'll do the thing" which makes some people just close the game after they failed to find a WT.

I think many people start out without a guide, then get stuck and they look for help for that part. The problem is when you get stuck and you can't find help, then you're just stuck. This can be solved by making the game guide the player more and having more detailed quest log that always allows the player to progress. Like assume a new player is dropped in the middle of any quest in the game, can they solve it with the tools readily at hand with no prior knowledge?

The tool can be quest log, map pointer, npc mentioned in quest log giving accurate information where to go next etc.

The game isn't difficult, and it spells out a lot of what's required. Of course, nothing is perfect (and I encourage people to tell me if they find something too cryptic), but as long as people read what the game says it's hard to really get lost (well, unless you play only once every few weeks, forget what the game told you, and the quest log isn't specific enough to help in that instance to trigger the memory or guide you toward the next objective). Do you have something specific in mind, when you say "talk to every npc on the map hoping it'll do the thing"? What's the scene(s) that caused this?

I think starting by the assumption that someone should be able to solve a quest even when dropped in the middle of it without prior knowledge is an awful design philosophy. The amount of work required on my end (or worse, the removal of any complexity or ambiguity) would make for a terribly dull game I'd want no part in.

I have mixed feelings about map pointers. Sometimes I wonder if I should add a map to the quest log to point out the location of the current objective on the world map, but other than that I find them troublesome to add and often almost more spoiler-y than a walkthrough.

I think it was some noble kidnapping quest. Essentially any quest where the sole guidance is an npc telling you what to do, but you didn't catch it from the dialogue is a risk. Then at noble vote quest it's just immediately looking for answers outside the game. Wasn't the rayne flowers stuff hinted once in dialogue and you're meant to screenshot it or something?

The possible way to solve it is have "talk to x/go to place x" in quest log or have the npc always re-cycle the information the player needs in dialogue rather than a "good luck on your quest we just talked about mate" so the player can back-track. Neither is very resource intensive problems.

The part with Rayne's flowers has been changed so that she always gives you the hint if you talk to her again (I can't remember if I did it this month or for the last release), that's probably enough of a fix.

I wonder if doing the same for the kidnapping would be enough, making sure the noble's servant tells you again what he knows. I feel like spelling things out in the quest log might make the investigation trivial, so I'd rather not to do that.

When you say looking for answers outside the game, do you mean the chess game or something else? the existance of the language of flowers is common knowledge (some people might not know about it, but I'd argue that's rare), and I don't ask people to actually know it, since the florist will tell you the meaning when you go to her, so I don't think that counts.

P.S.

Is it possible to receive email notifications when someone writes in this thread? I just get the notification in the alerts when I am here at the forum, right now.

Regardless of the situation, when theres "get enough votes" style quest I bet many people think "I better follow a guide just in case" because they dread failing it and having horrible things done to them.

If you want to make a fun game you have to realize people are essentially not like you in any way. The game is going to be played by English second language's who have never touched a chess board or who haven't played enough games to understand gaming conventions. Some are mentally challenged.
Here's illustrative examples from popular culture.

Well, if that's the case, I guess it can't be helped. I designed the quest assuming that missing a few votes isn't a problem, but I can see why some people would like to get the maximum amount available.

English isn't my first language either, but yeah, I guess I am doomed to be a niche developer. At least now I can appreciate a bit more how useful the walkthrough can be. XD

At least, that's what working on Solina's beach made me think about. As an Italian, I only know of the event because of "girls gone wild" videos, pretty much. XD
I found comfort from my cold thinking about sexy girls in bikinis, but sadly that didn't help too much with the time lost recovering from it.

Anyway, I added all the basic stuff I wanted to have ready for the beach, but it still needs more. Still, it should be a fun area to visit, with plenty of sexy content. It's a "leisure" area, but I might use it for some quests later on. I might also expand the beach with a couple of extra maps, but that's the kind of stuff that I'd only add really late in development, if I have the time.

I still need a bit more work on the modeling job, to get it off the ground. If I hadn't fell sick, maybe I could have pushed the next release sooner, but it should still be within this week, before the weekend. If things go well, maybe I'll manage to squeeze some extra stuff in the next few days, but I don't know how likely that is.

Anyway, the next release should be this week, as I said, so stay tuned! ^_^

P.S.

This is a question I should probably ask more often to gather suggestions, but are there any scenes (sexy or not) that you feel desperately need some art to go with them? I might put the suggestions up for voting in the next poll, so if you have any that you care about, make sure to post about them!

I do the same, have at least 25-35 games that are not completed, and anytime I do play an update it is from a fresh start so now I have to play the another game 'what the fuck did I do last time' to remember what secrets are where, how to solve the puzzles in a few seconds (from previous play thrus).

Playing them from a fresh start always seems to burn certain games into my memory, that and if they are updated at least once a month.

Found a bug or glitch, I had Erica outside the city, entered the City to find a female warrior, and a male Mage in the center of the street arguing... Nothing went wrong, but if you follow the dialog... The Mage says he'll be at the guild, the female visits the bathhouse...

I went to the bathhouse, met up wit her..... You get 3 chooses when prompted, I chose to bath together, the other girl says about the water not being warm enough... When I try to exit the bath, a looped dialog continues so anytime you hit 'enter' the dialog just keeps showing up, hit f12 to reset and reload, this time I stayed in the bath and tried using 'cast fire' spell, but if the target zone goes outside or to the edge of the bath, the same thing happens.
