Ren'Py - Camp Klondike [Night Six Part Two] [Swimsoot]

Easily one of the better VNs I've ever played, and I'm glad it's no longer abandoned. The writing is top notch, especially when it comes to the smut. If you like build-up and kinkiness, then you need to play Camp Klondine now. It's also pretty funny at times and I've had more than a few chuckles when it comes to some of the gags.

The use of audio is really good too. Whilst the music is pretty basic, the use of smack sounds and moans is very well done and adds a lot to the sex scenes present in the game.

The art isn't for everyone, and I'm admittedly 50/50 on it, but I can appreciate it. It sort of reminds me of low budget kids cartoons, and that fits the somewhat youthful and playful tone the writing has. That being said, it's not the most arousing visuals and I doubt I'd enjoy the game if it wasn't for the great writing and audio.

My only complaint is the game is absolutely linear. It's no deal breaker for me, but considering how many women there are in the game, it'd be nice to have multiple paths involving at least some of them.

Probably the best writing of any VN that I've ever played.

The graphics won't be to everyone's taste, but are fine enough to support the story. The dialog captures the personalities, their histories, and development as they make (and confess) sensual and erotic discoveries incredibly well.

I downloaded this game because Dev seems super kind and is very grateful for any support and that made me happy.

The art is so unique and it reminds me of something that I can't quite put my finger on? (ayy, lmao) I liked it.

My issue is with the lack of choices. I ran into like, 5 game over screens for making the 'wrong' choices and I'm super curious why they're even in the game in the first place if you can't pick them? Then, in other instances, you're only given a single choice. Is this a kinetic novel? I'm confused. It was honestly frustrating.

I liked the game, and the Dev is super nice but I want actual choice not the illusion of it.

Compared to most "games" on this site Camp Klondike is a masterpiece.

It is very well done. The writing, story, characters, sound effects, and visuals all work perfectly together to create a visually stunning story.

The art looks kind of odd when you see stills from the game, but in game it looks great and a lot of time and energy has gone into motion and visual effects. It is wonderful to watch as there are just so many visually interesting things happening.

There is so much emphasis on visual motion that I think Camp Klondike feels more like an animated televison show than a visual novel. Many times I closed the text box just to watch the scene play out... just to appreciate the movement and motion.

It is a bummer that this has been put on hold.

I am always surprised at how many adult games are cookie cutter. It seems to me that there should be more content creators trying to do interesting and unique projects. There are some, obviously, but not enough. I am glad I decided to visit Camp Klondike. It was a trip I won't forget.

Nothing in this that pushing my sex drive at all. If you are looking for a story but not sex it might wet your whistle, but even then I found it overbearing and cumbersome.

I got nothing whatsoever off of the drawn sexual images. I give two stars because the writing isn't terrible, however it's not great either.

Great game. Single one which left something else in my brain except traces of polygon breasts and overly perfect "barbie" faces. It was really an experience and I genuinly had the feeling to be able to view something great while playing. It was like a movie. Nice usage of the elements a video game enables you to do.

E.g. the scene at the campfire where you could select people. It was like, each character is interesting. All where liked. People where so normal with their issues. People actually where distrusting you. You could decide who you are, but yet, there was a scripted character range. Whoring around is part of the game, yet it is different than in other ones I played. Maybe it is the setting: A limited, yet interesting environment. Characters even behave differently in everyday life (e.g., how they react to you when they see you approaching their shack. Immersion +++! This game is like a 97, havent seen another one really close to 90 before. Time spent on like creating the best butt models and stuff could be maybe invested in doing sth else entirely or really creating original ideas.

I mean, sry for the rant, how much sameness is there among the people in all these games on this forum? They are so boring. Wouldn't even date them in real life. Here, even the "rich bitch" receives depth. Thats how humanity could be, folks!

Very innovative art style and a compelling story line. Feels more like a real story than most games. Lots of realistic situations and normal reactions from the characters, not just the mc running around f-ing everything that moves. Hope the writer finishes it up, as it is one of the most original games on this site.

I really like this one. Hope there will be a continuation. I really enjoy it much more than some of the others that may "look better". There is lots of quality, tension building and anticipation. I guess I have a soft spot for voyeur theme and there is some of that too that I much enjoyed. Great work. Hope to see it continue.

I really admire artists such as swimsoot. They are obviously very talented, but I feel that writing a great story like Camp Klondike must take much more than just talent. I imagine it takes an immense amount of courage to put something so honest, so true out there. One needs to have a whole lot of confidence to create with such sincerity and intelligence; one must have faith in themselves and in their audience, to be able to strip away and at the same time consummate artifice, to approximate life while transcending it.

There is much to love about Camp Klondike, a creation that really works in so many levels. The art is unique and effectively matches the story settings, it is efficient and yet beautiful. I think it's fantastic how the artist was able to convey complex emotions and tell so much about the characters through their facial expressions. Many of the characters have this extraordinary and multifaceted personality, and sometimes subvert our expectations in delightful ways. And at the same time, the author also gives room for your imagination to enrich the story, and this is what transforms it into something personal and makes it feel real.

The author has show a great deal of depth and range in their storytelling. Writing with exquisite pacing and showing an incredible talent to stage engaging exchanges between the characters, they have created a tale in which it is very easy to immerse yourself. Some of the scenes depicted here are intensely erotic, among the very best out there. The writing here is so many levels above your average porn game, it's even embarrassing to put the two of them in the same sentence.

While the story still lacks a proper resolution, it also feels oddly complete. Maybe because life is sometimes like this. But don't get me wrong - I am still very much looking forward to see what swimsoot has yet to tell us about Camp Klondike. And if I'm allowed to dream, maybe we can spend a bit more time with my favorite character Schuyler and her luminous, perfect smile.

I discovered this game just when it was put on hold (Night Four - Part Two) and I was genuinely impressed and also deeply sad to see this is not going to be completed anytime soon. Art may be an acquired taste for some people but expressions and close-ups perfectly match the storytelling (those nipple-pinching pics are hot!) so the whole package is just perfect, and that's what matters. Camp Klondike is a 'sexual coming of age' story for a bunch of youngsters in the final week of a summer camp where they worked as counselors, and it really captures the essence of that odd period of our lives: scenes in Klondike are the most erotic ones I've seen in this forum in a long while, with animations, close-ups, writing and building-up making them just perfect. I really hope it's just a temporary pause. A total gem that deserves real praise in almost every aspect.

You need to play this game. You will not understand how good it is until you've played it. I was even on the fence until I made it through the "Cleanup Club" section. That is one of the hottest scenes in any adult game I've ever experienced.

First of. I love this game.

The tension build-up and general interaction between the characters are the best part of the story.

The best and worst thing about the game is the art.

On the one hand, I love the drawn characters. The emphasis on specific body parts all contributes to the game and makes it comes alive.

I love the art, but having said that... it's unique, but not the best hand drawn game I have played. I just can not bring myself to give it the full 5 stars,

It took me a while to try this one because playing through 2d projects in their early updates is...pain. Because usually they are empty. Now that it has some meat, I can finally rate it.

Its art is unusual but it quickly grew on me. Alongside the unique way it depicts sex scenes, it's probably my favorite aspect of this game. And it has good writing to go with it. Since the sex scenes are kinda like a fever dream, it's very verbose during them to better portray what's going on. And what's going on is usually steamy. Unlike many games that just use a dorky animation and forget sex scenes need to be written. The first one in the bunk bed (you 'll know), is among my favorites on here.

My worry, like most 2d games, is its update pace. It is kinda slow but of course it's to be expected at this point with 2d art. Still not ideal when it comes to growth.

This game is spotty.
Meaning, there are moments it is really good, and moments it's really bad.

I like the art overall, but then it lacks hugely at times. Kind of like an impatient artist only focusing when they want to.

And while the faces are pretty... the mouths. Wtf even are those? One oddly large mouth is a character quirk. Everyone with them is a bad art style.

The gameplay part is just clicking on things occasionally. Really could be eliminated, but I suppose it replaces some necessary art otherwise.

The part this VN excels at is the dirty talk. This game could easily have been named Camp Pillow Talk or something.

The lewd talks are more about using imagination and will likely not impress you if it doesn't hook you. It only hooked me like twice, but that may differ per person.

tldr: This one isn't a standard VN. Only you can tell if you like it.

The situations, the differences between the girls all make this game hot hot hot. Some might disagree on the art style but I love the uniqueness of it. Hope the future chapters explore more of the girls individual personalities and kinks with or without the MC.

This is the most engaging and immersive pairing of sound effects and animation I have experienced in a while. The characters are amazingly written and three-dimensional , and there truly is something for everyone. Not to mention how real everything feels story-wise.
Definitely a contender for my favourite game on this site.

[Night Four Part One] The first thing you'll notice is the graphics. It's... well, it's a mix of Microsoft Paint and clipart from Office 97 It feels weird at first, but I'd urge you to push through. It fits the atmosphere well, and the experience is greatly enhanced by animations and sound effects.

What's it about, then? It's a summer camp for college-aged boys and girls. Klondike is run by a strict headmistress who does not want shenanigans in her domain. Obviously, horny teenagers have other plans. Some (like our MC) are new to the camp, and some have known each other for years, allowing for some interesting dynamics. The writing is quite good, and often hilarious.

So far, so ordinary. What makes the game special is how it cares for its characters. At its core, Klondike is an exploration of sexuality and kink. It does so with humour, realism and finesse, without resorting to cheap objectification.

There are scant concessions for porn logic, if any. The girls are almost all sexually experienced to various degrees, while MC's experience is limited to being on the cover of a sex manual and some... unfortunate attempts at exploration with aquatic equipment Some girls have boyfriends, some are interested in boys other than the MC (!), and most are willing to talk about their sexual history - in graphic detail - around a campfire, with plenty of alcohol as social lubricant.

One of my biggest pet-peeves in AVNs is the poor quality of sex writing. Watching characters repeatedly smash their bits does absolutely nothing for me. You could create the most intricate, photorealistic renders, but without eroticism I'll likely yawn and fast-forward. Klondike gets eroticism right. One girl narrates her extremely hot experience about getting fucked on a nude beach, another enjoys mutual masturbation with the MC in the wee hours of the night, yet another has some rough play time with the MC in a cave. Kinks are explored, voyeurs and exhibitionists discover themselves.

And everything happens without reducing anyone to their body parts. These are people who care about being seen and understood, not merely used. They communicate. Boundaries exist, and are respected. One of the girl's first sex scene with the MC includes a quick chat about how exactly she likes and doesn't like to be touched. Such a stark contrast to the "just stick it in" we've come to expect. Condoms are a thing! MC and a girl decide not to go for PIV despite being very much in the heat of the moment because they realize neither of them brought a condom.

It's not just MC's interactions, either. One of the girls - the one closest to MC - helps out another guy in a sexual situation. It's meant as an act of kindness for a friend, is received as such, and no one gets jealous or possessive. Yet another guy has feelings for yet another girl, and MC plays wingman to both. Some girls are actual lesbians, and have no interest in the MC.

I could go on and on, but this is already long enough. So I'll just say that Camp Klondike is a surprisingly refreshing take on the summer camp genre, and is strongly recommended! Go support the developer on Patreon
