The update is due out once a game-breaking bug is fixed. However long that takes, no-one can say.

It's better that you discovered this before sending it to the public than that people come to charge you because of the bug.

I am not the developer. I'm just quoting what was said, several comments and/or one page ago.
Any news from the developer? The last Patreon post was a month ago. I know a bug showed up and they’re working on fixing it, but I was wondering if there have been any updates since the last post. I don’t want to seem pushy, after all I’m playing the game for free, so I’m definitely not in a position to complain.

Honestly, if we don't hear anything from them in the following weeks, I'd consider the game Abandoned.
My fear is that it's such a severe bug it's "easier" to just redo the whole game from scratch and that is extremely soul crushing to any dev. And IF that's the case they'll either just do it OR abandon it and either leave or just make a brand new game.
Again it's all speculation on my part but considering how long the dev has been trying to fix the bug and now the complete radio silence, I'm more and more convinced of this.
Yeah, I just hope everything’s fine, because as far as I know the developer usually posts previews every week. But unless they’ve given some updates in the comments of the last post, they haven’t posted anything since August 8th.

They did say on the last post that their next post will be the release of the game, which is why they are not posting. Also they usually post on a weekend, so if it's going to get posted, it would be on a weekend.

Well, the only possibility is that they’re giving updates through Discord. I mean, maybe I’m just coping, but in their last post they said the next Patreon update would be the actual release update. So maybe that’s why they haven’t been posting updates or new previews there.
The patience of doom sayers is rather hilarious for a game that you're not even paying for. Just wait and stop bitching and moaning that it's not coming out. It's not even the weekend when they usually post. Wait till Monday, and then if there's no update, go cry somewhere else. Maybe they have decided to release the two separate parts of episode 3 as an entire download; nobody knows. Just wait and stop posting nothing comments.
