Gentlemen, I downloaded the game last night and started playing the latest version. Not only does it ask you at the beginning if you want to "customize" the relationships, it also provides an option on the preferences screen to change them in-game. IMO the game would be pretty boring w/o this option. Adding this feature will let Dotty Diaries promote the game on other platforms, receive more support and hopefully produce even better games.
The one issue with games that have you rename character's rolls is that you don't always know their age or who they SHOULD be. There have been a few time I got it wrong and had to restart.

So, for people who don't know
Nicole = Sister
Diane = Mom/Mother
Becky = Sister

I also HATE the fact that so many renpy games now feel the need to have long unskippable splash screens when you start them up. Really sick of it. I don't need to be warned about age, see your dev logo, etc every...single...time I start up the game. ONCE is enough. I need a mod to remove this crap. And, every dev should set the volumes to 30% so it doesn't blast a hole in your home the first time you start up the game.

The only way I would ever play this finished version if they kept the incest. Also, I will never support devs like this that embraces the censorship.
The Dev doesn't support IC-censorship, they are forced to do so, else their games won't make it to the game platforms. But I bet your a smart guy and figure it out how to get the game as you want it to be.

I'm currently supporting 20 games, 11 of those are on Patreon. What genre do they all have in common? INCEST

Some needs a patch, some you can set the relationship and some you don't need anything at all, but in all of them the dialog makes sense when they are set to family. So don't even try to argue.

EDIT: Also, the dev itself said he/she made a mistake, but instead of fixing by using the older version as base, he/she just added an option set the relationship that breaks the dialog.

You have both the base version v0.8 and the release version v1.0. You can "merge" both scripts to get the version you like, eg take v0.8 (ch 1-8) and add chapter 9 from v1.0. After the intro both versions play very similar, so the changes for the script should be manageable.

I wonder how did they play the Dare Game in Ancient Greece without internet, smartphones, surveillance cameras, messenger and payment apps, ...?

I mean you do know that people have actually played "Dare" games a looooooonng time before any of that stuff was invented right? I mean like in the 70-90s people would just photograph their dares with regular/polaroid cameras. Before that someone just had to be around to more or less watch that dares were performed either up close or from a safe distance... And of course if payment was involved it could be done with cash or whatever currency was around at any give time and done via drops or a third party if secrecy was important, you really don't need an app to pay people...

The whole (nonsense) story is built around incest. The Dare Game to force selected people to have sex with their siblings, brother with sister, father with daughter, to keep dad's ancient greek bloodline pure.
(Mother with son incest actually does not strengthen dad's bloodline! The same applies to having sex with a sister and then cum in her mouth. The other players in the game also do not make sense since they do not seem to be related to dad's bloodline.)

Why do a incest heavy game, then remove all hints on relationships from dialogs, and publish it on steam who do not tolerate incest?

Wouldn't it be better to develop a pure incest game and release it for free and finance via patreon where fans can support dev in general and can order innocent custom renders of game characters having sex?

Are the differences in the two versions really that insignificant?
Except for the overall "Incest Dare Game" story, v0.8 was a pretty good version.
It's been a year since I played v0.8 and I have not played all paths in v1.0 yet, so it is possible that I did not notice all differences or that I missed some.

There are cosmetic changes between v0.8 and v1.0, eg different menus, the ingame button for special renders moved from top right to top left, etc.
The start of v0.8 and v1.0 is different. In v0.8 mc is like a family member (son/brother), in v1.0 he is an outsider and stranger until you reach the later chapters which breaks immersion. As others mentioned, these changes to the early game are for the worse.
Most scenes of the middle to late game were familiar to me except for the final revelation.
Unfortunately this last revelation does not fit that well with the start of the story.

Anyway, if you play v0.8 and then use the same path in v1.0, you should see if there are any differences on your path.

Is there an i Patch? I know you can define relationships in the menu, but the girls refer to their parent's by their first names which is odd.

You can directly access and edit all the dialogs by opening the script files in CC_season_1-1.0-pc\game\scripts. Just make a backup before getting creative.

Problem is not the names but that dev added a new "neutral" prologue where mc and his dad are just like visitors and strangers to Diane and the girls.

MC "(It’s been five months since everything turned upside down.)"
MC "(That’s when my dad decided we should move back to the place we used to live.)"
MC "(And here we are, like nothing even happened.)"
MC "(With him, it’s always been like that. One day it’s a fresh start, the next it’s packing bags outta nowhere.)"

(That comment by mc actually does not make sense in the later context that mc recently started at college/university and just finished his first year and is on summer break at home.)

Some content is simply commented out.

Example of removed lines from the 1st scene in the kitchen :
#Diane "Your father has been my friend for more than twenty years."
#Diane "He's the one who always made sure I got the finest jewelry."
#Diane "Every time I needed something elegant, he knew exactly what would suit me."

Dialog between mc and the girls is more like visitor than relative, especially if you consider that Nicole is older and Becky is younger than mc.

MC "Hey girls!"
Becky "Leaving already?"
Nicole "We were just about to force you into another movie night."
Richard "Alright, enough fun. Time to get moving."
Becky "Don’t take too long!"
Becky "We'll be waiting for you."
Diane "I don't remember when I saw girls this excited."
Becky "We're just happy to have him around."
Nicole "Yeah, it’s been fun having some extra company in the house."

Who calls their brother "some extra company in the house"?

Agreed. The dev made this remake that no one asked for. Even setting the relationship there's no immersion.

Appreciate the details reply. I agree with you though. It's very odd. I'll try to make those edits.
