The core of this game is enabling the sleazy self-serving producer cliché. To the point it yucked the original author out. That's the value proposition here.

If the new guy intends to turn the reboot into something the game isn't, he's much better off just creating a brand new game. He could even call his new game "Casting Director". It's not as if trademark law - or laws in general - applies around here... Just don't claim something is a remake when it doesn't do the same thing or scratch the same itch; that's a bad idea that will only generate needless badwill for the author!
That's the thing. A lot of games and devs on this site may start with the self serving MC archetype for a bit and then the original creator will either drop it due to unknown reasons or because they view the MC and the message of the game as too "yucky" for them. Whatever. Then there's the types who start that way and then slowly just make the MC turn 180 and become the super loved by everybody and can do no wrong types. WVM did this for whatever reason. Either way sometimes you just want a game where you can feed into the fantasy of power, of controlling and manipulating others and casting director and confidence man were both pretty good at delivering this feeling, however unfortunately both were dropped.

Incubus City was completed though.
I would love to see a mix of that game and this one.

incubus city is well done because it stuck to it's premise. Why do we need to pretend to have some ethical aversion towards the games we create and play? Ultimately, it's the creator's choice. If old dirty dog felt like he was making something that he felt "yucked" out by then fair. I guess that's all they could stomach. In the end to me it's just fiction. No bearing on reality.

This game had the potential for sure, I'd honestly have to replay it even to get an idea of where it was going to even think about trying to continue it, but honestly, even if I or anyone continued it, I doubt we'd do the story justice in the way that it deserves, but don't let that discourage you from trying your hand at it, everyone has to start somewhere and why not start on a premade field, sometimes it's better to run down a ready-made track than try to forge your own, at least in the beginning.

I downloaded it through one of the links on the main page and had no issues, I don't think it's the links that are infested with trojans, perhaps it's your browser of your av acting stupid or something

Did the dev actually say he was bothered by the content of the game he was making? I remember he mentioned viewing pornography being detrimental to his relationship with his girlfriend, but that doesn't mean he was grossed out by the game.
