It's because most "female protagonist" games here aren't really about the female lead as an actual main character with agency and ability to make her own choices, as much as they are about the female lead being a victim and a target.Yes, a FMC is a rare gem where she is behaving like a woman actually. I'm so sick of "women must be corrupted to have sex". We like sex too just like men for fucks sake.
To put it another way, nearly every male protagonist game is about what the male protagonist does, while the female protagonist games are about what is done to the female protagonist.
Or to put it another another way, most female protagonist treat the female lead as the object rather than as the subject.
Which is a shame, because games where the female lead can actually BE a protagonist who makes choices, has agency, and allows the player to actually shape the story from their point-of-view are generally way more interesting than ones where it's just "watch a bunch of guys do stuff to this FMC".
It makes it harder to find games like this one where the female lead really is in control and confident in her choices, but it also makes games like this one stand out more once you do find them.
