The game looks great I´ve tried to play it but is just kinda confusing sadly there is no waltru mod yet :SIs there a walkthough mod?
I agree with you on the point about the main player control being male, but playing devil's advocate and using your own definition, "or one of the major characters in a drama..." could be applied to some of the celebrities, who, if memory serves correctly, occasionally tells the story from their pov and we get to choose how to proceed at that time. Granted, it is a stretch, but may be the reasoning behind the tag.I don't mean to sound rude or bitchy here, but.. why the hell is this game (still) listed as being a 'female protagonist' game? The main character is clearly a guy, and is only a guy. As far as I can tell, the narative is only told from a male perspective, with no option to become female (and even if there was, that would still be 'male protagonist', but also allow for the 'futa/trans' tag - not 'female protagonist'). In case anyone's forgotten, or their fingers are just broken.. here's Google and the Oxford dictonary's definition of what a 'protagonist' is;
pro·tag·o·nist
/prəˈtaɡənəst/
noun
- the leading character or one of the major characters in a drama, movie, novel, or other fictional text.
In other words, given that the character that the player controls is a male, that make this a.. *gasp!* ..'Male Protagonist' game, and only a male protagonist game.
All those people that the actual protagonist sticks his little pecker in, those are what we call 'supporting characters', at best. Not 'protagonists'.
Final Fantasy 7 (remake), isn't listed as a 'female protagonist' game simply because you can have Tifa and/or Aerith in your party, right? Why? Because everyone knows that Cloud is the primary protagonist, and while Tifa, Aerith, Barret and all the others play major roles, the story still follows Cloud's journey, thus making it a 'male protagonist' game.
I'm getting really sick of devs/mods somehow conflating 'female protagonist' with 'game contains females'.
I'm female, and I'm looking for games that will let me indulge in several of the naughty things running through my head that polite society keeps telling me are highly inappropriate. So, when I search for 'Female Protagonist' games, it's annoying as hell that more than two thirds of the results are just various rebrandings of; "You play as John Hasacock! A socially inept otaku who's only marketable skill is breathing. Join John as he dominates the hearts, minds and bodies of women who would never actually give him the time of day.. with his cock!"
Stop trying to call soup a steak, just because it contains beef broth. Tag your games correctly.
In the original Final Fantasy 7, back on PS2.. there's a section where Cloud becomes comatose, and you as a player end up controlling Tifa for a short time. Does, or did, that cause Final Fantasy 7 to be tagged as being a 'Female Protagonist' game?I agree with you on the point about the main player control being male, but playing devil's advocate and using your own definition, "or one of the major characters in a drama..." could be applied to some of the celebrities, who, if memory serves correctly, occasionally tells the story from their pov and we get to choose how to proceed at that time. I have not played FF7, so can't really say and have no strong opinion on it, but I definitely understand your frustration and agree that it can be seen as misleading.In the original Final Fantasy 7, back on PS2.. there's a section where Cloud becomes comatose, and you as a player end up controlling Tifa for a short time. I understand that you're likely simply playing 'Devil's Advocate' for the sake of debate. Real debate, I mean. Not just two people screaming at one another like feral cats. However, I clearly stated my reasoning as to 'why' I said what I said; the problem is rampant.
When I refine my search preferences, F95 goes from having 772 pages worth of games, to having a mere 8. 8/772 is already incredibly scant, however, the last page are all over 5 years old, knocking it down to 7/772.. And then, roughly 4 1/2 of the remaining pages, not just entries, are blanant male protagonist games tagged as being 'female protagonist' games. It's.. maddening to say the least. If you enjoy the game, great. I'm genuinely happy for you, as well as anyone else who enjoys the game, and am legitimately happy for the developer for making 'something'. Each of us deserves to have things that we enjoy. Let me have mine, without needing it to be tainted by rampant mistagging.
I'm already giving all these devs/mods the benefit of the doubt, and applying Hanlon's Razor to the problem, rather than simply assuming that they're each deliberately falsy advertising.
Hanlon's Razor:
"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
I have not.I have not played FF7, so can't really say and have no strong opinion on it, but I definitely understand your frustration and agree that it can be seen as misleading.
I'm curious, have you tried the dev's other game, https://f95zone.to/threads/priscila-secret-ep-10-geiko-games.220767/, which seems like it may be more legitimately 'female protagonist', although it is probably just a rehash of Celebrity Hunter content.
