Hmm, lemme do a quick fact check...
* Last review is from around version 0.46 or so, game is currently at 0.98 with mostly linear increases in numbering.
* Decision was taken over three years now, already closer four than to three.
* Many policy changes in-between, including to rules and interface (featured games, latest updates search, etc).
I'm... not sure I agree with you.
To
quote Sam, the ban was because review manipulation defeats the purpose of having reviews.
At this point however, I'm not sure the reviews actually reflect the current state of the game (although I do agree with some of them, like story being secondary).
Thankfully it's not my problem, but I disagree that the current punishment
duration is "perfectly reasonable", and while it was effective in attaining what the staff stated as the goal, I'm not sure if the length doesn't make it counterproductive (assuming they actually care with stated goals, anyway).
This being said, I don't really trust human beings and wouldn't be surprised if the dev rushed to do review manipulation as soon as the ban is gone, so there's that, but at that point the ban reason could be alleged to be "mods are scared of having to work" which would be flat out silly
[...] I am sure the dev learned his lesson [...]
So can't say I agree with you either!
