Really a shame the moaning sound is mixed with the music, which completely ruins the moaning sounds for me... Don't understand why Devs mix it with music? When there is a setting for voice, witch makes that setting useless.

That was fixed two versions ago.
Moans are in sound not music.


Any chance to get an android version ?

The emotional level of these characters runs deep at times. It's hard to find porn games that really make you feel.

1.3 Preview:

Thanks for all the comments/criticisms/likes.
Liking the thread really helps me out, so I appreciate it.
This is a good start to the project but it is nowhere as polished as I want it to be.

On my Patreon I shared a post where I go into detail about what I want from 1.3
It is planned to be the biggest update as of yet and it will change the look of the game.
After this is done I can go into overdrive mode and add a lot of story content.

These are my 3 objectives for 1.3:


Objective: Quest System

At this point of the game I want to have a simple quest system.
I'm going to take some time to build some menus. The maps I did with event selection in the earlier chapters were a bit scuffed. They will be replaced. This will probably take a huge chunk of time because it's my first time doing it. I don't plan on redoing it so I'm going to take my time and make sure it's legit as fuck.

As you complete quests you will gain stats and money which will be the prerequisites for the main storyline. I don't want to make the game a traditional sandbox style game. Clicking through buildings and having to search for girls on the world map is something that I don't enjoy in Visual Novels. But I still like the freedom that the sandbox style gives.

Objective: Replacing Bad Animations
I saw in the review section Playfulpetfox pointed out the poor quality of some of the animations. They're 100% right. Especially in the early scenes there is a serious lack of quality. This is the players first impression and I need to make sure it's a good one. I'm going to slowly revamp the beginning scenes as I progress in the story. I DON'T want to be that dev that is constantly reworking earlier scenes instead of progressing the story. I hope that in future versions that those not pleased with the animations will give it a try. I hope to have all of that fixed by 1.6. So in a month or two. I'm going to be constantly improving as I work on the project and I don't want to constantly rework the content. However in this case I think it's a serious turnoff for the player and kills immersion.


Objective: Developing Characters

One of my favourite cartoons of all time is Avatar the Last Airbender. Towards the final season of the show there's a series of episodes where one of the main characters, Prince Zuko, goes on journeys with each member of his team. You learn more about each of the characters through an adventure. That's something I want to do in this game. The main characters should all feel like buddies. One day I want to have polls where thousands of players are flaming each other over their favourite characters.
The side characters that receive the best reception may be added to the crew.


Things I will do in the future:
Patreon Rewards : Collectible Trading Cards. Once I get enough patrons I'll have a couple bricks of collectible trading cards featuring game characters printed out. They can be given by being a longtime patron, reaching a certain patron tier, or solving an in game riddle first. For the riddles I'll limit it at first to patrons but open it up to everyone if it's been a while. They won't be easy to solve. I will mail them to you.
I'll probably do this at 100 patrons, depending on the costs/demand.

Gallery: I'm going to focus on the most pressing issues first. But a gallery is something that will be needed eventually. At this point the game isn't ridiculously long so I'm not worried about it for now. But as I update it will be a necessity.

Not a bad game. I was certainly surprised at how cinematic it was attempting to be, as not many Renpy games attempt to do actual animation angles for non-sexual action views. There were some weird awkward pauses though, and sometimes I accidentally skipped cutscenes, because it seemed like the initial view was all there was, but then someone would walk into the scene. Maybe add a visual cue to the movies, like a small spinning arrow or a green button to indicate that you should watch for more than a few seconds. While I'm sure you want to set a "cinematic tone" for some scenes, it's still a game, so don't be afraid to embrace that.

Final Fantasy 7, one of the most widely acclaimed games ever, attempts it's best to be very cinematic, but it has a feature where when you press the select button, icons will pop up on the screen to indicate where you can walk to and interact with. When I was younger, I always liked that feature and over the years was always confused why the games that copied it didn't keep that option, as it's really cumbersome to wander around the edge of a map and "guess" where you can walk to shift scenes. Anyway, my point is, don't be afraid to make your game more user friendly.

I also want to compliment the details put into the girls themselves. A lot of people just make pretty basic characters, with maybe some glasses, and call it a day, but that's kind of boring. It was nice to see that each girl kind of had their own style, immediately recognizable hair color, tattoos and what not. Don't be afraid to customize the girls further and give them more "visual personality", like piercings (both regular and naughty).

Just don't go nuts and overdo it, by covering them head to toe in tattoos markings. For instance, I found Layla's character design really sexy, but later on, most of that "seductive appeal" she clearly relies on went away when she put clothes on, covering her sexy stuff stuff up. I naturally assumed that her "lingerie-style" top with jean shorts and the hole in the back was her normal outfit (it made her look like a rave girl, which felt appropriate), so it felt weird went she put on a conservative gown later.

The game visuals looked a little fuzzy to me, though. Either the resolution isn't quite right, or its an issue with Koikatu or whatever older engine the characters exist on. Also, the lighting felt a bit too bright sometimes, which makes the light-skinned girls harder to see. One girl even had a light-skinned body, but a darker face, which didn't make much sense.

I'm not sure if how much use it would be to you, in terms of legality or whatever, but we have the more recently "naughty anime animation games" available here, like Artifical Acadamy 2, Honey Select and I think there's a Koikatu 2 now. I don't have all that stuff installed anymore, so I don't quite recall all of their names, but all that naughty stuff by Illusion.

The overall story wasn't bad. I can appreciate a fun dystopian world covered with vague laws and what not, so more of that.

Anyway, long rant, but good luck working on your game.

The animation scenes really inflate the file size so in the future I'm going to save that for key moments.
And they're a bit of a pain in the ass to make.
The animation indicator is a good idea! I'll have to figure out how to implement that and put it on my to do list.

Outfits: The outfits are going to be rotating. After staring at the characters in development for hours I get sick of the same outfits. Since Layla was one of the first characters to appear, when I was much slower at development, I got sick of the outfit pretty quick so I switched it up. In her future character arcs she'll have similar outfits to the first one! It's my intent to have the main characters have more depth than the innocent/slutty/badass/ archetypes that are present now.

With Koikatsu's CharacterStudio the quality of the background assets is inconsistent. As a result the ones with worse detail stand out more because the change in quality is abrupt. I'd have to be very selective about the backgrounds I use or make my own. And making my own would be a huge time sink that would make updates take months.

I'm definitely interested in making a honey select 2 game. But right now I'm focusing on improving my dev skills. So that won't be happening for months. I'll keep this as the passion project and the honey selector game as the cash cow. But again right now my focus is solely on this game until I'm happy with it.

Cleaning up the visuals is a huge focus of 1.3

I hope you'll give it another try in one of the later versions!

Pretty neat so far. I find the atmosphere of the game far more morally ambiguous than most other games I've found here (which I suppose I should expect with the name "Chaotic Neutral") which is certainly a nice change of pace. Most things I'd recommend needing improvements have already been mentioned but one thing I don't think I saw anyone mention were the constant cut to black screens as transitions for the H-scenes. Maybe it's because I had to click to progress them but they felt rather jarring. I think a quick fade in and out may feel more natural. And it might not. I don't know.

At any rate, I like it so far and I look forward to seeing how this progresses.
