I'm quite sure with smartphone these days, any blocks on one's contact list is synchronized to the cloud and gets automatically transferred to any new phone.

There really isn't any phone-only contact list any more. When was the last time you specifically disabled the contact list sync to the your cloud account?
I also think that this explains the issue of the block that passes from phone to phone, nowadays mobile phones that are at least slightly evolved allow, or sometimes do so almost automatically, to import the settings from the previous phone.

Tara talks about accounts not providers, it is credible

how is the fact that only a few could block Jaye's phone a specific accusation against MC?
who of all people is the one who by leaving had no opportunity to do so after the graduation party fight? and before that why would he have done it?
Doesn't seem to me like MC reacts to that message like someone with a tail.

At this point Tara herself is much more suspicious, and that sentence could be a semi confession.
Tara_jaccuse!.jpg
Tara points out only a few people could have added the block, then adds that the MC ran away as soon as she revealed the block and then specifically asks if he sees what she is implying. The accusation is clear: the MC did not want to talk to Jaye. At the minimum, he didn't want to clear the air and get to the bottom of who DID install the block if it wasn't him.

And the MC's only response is to ask if that's why she texted him. No denial, no counter proposal, not even an explanation for why he skedaddled this time. He just wants to know if Tara is going to keep talking about this.

I agree Tara remains a suspect, but her motivations are very tenuous. There were much easier ways to sabotage the relationship between Jaye and the MC than setting up a 1-way phone block 5 years ago then revealing it when Jaye was primed to believe the MC was lying about calling her. And if she is behind it, accusing him in private of something she knows he didn't do serves no purpose.

I'll reevaluate if the MC gives me some reason to dispute Tara's interpretation of events, but for now his (non) reaction makes it the most plausible explanation out there.

I understand what you mean, but I do not agree with the way you read that scene.

first of all, I repeat, Mc didn't really have a chance to get his hands on Jaye's phone after beating up Cristian, first he went out with Tara and then he left, when was he supposed to do that?

In my opinion Tara with that sentence wants to open MC's eyes on his parents (who had both the occasion and the motivation).

the fact that he left immediately isn't a sign of guilt (the reason why he left is explained, a stupid reason but narratively it's there) but it prevented the three of them to talk about it immediately leaving the matter unresolved (and sooner or later it will have to be solved like the fact that Jaye's father never told his daughter that Mc stopped taking her to school because he was afraid it would create problems)

What would MC gain by blocking his number on Jaye's phone?
If he didn't want to call her he could just... you know... not call her?

In my opinion it was done right after the parents' death by a third party who has much to gain from the two main heirs having a sour and distrustful relation. Access to the phone isn't required, even a wannabe hacker could get into a phone account and block a number.

Maybe I'm nitpicking here but MC says that Jaye never picked up. But if he was blocked it wouldn't even ring on his end, so he should've said something like "I tried calling you but it wouldn't connect". Either this points at MC lying about the block or this is just an oversight by the devs. But if MC's lying about the block shouldn't we(the players) know this?

I always thought it was implied it was the MC who blocked his number on Jaye's cellphone somehow, and that it was with Tara's phone Jaye gave the news to the MC.

I don't know how a US phone behaves when calling a blocked number. Does this result in a "number busy" ringing tone? In this case, the MC knows that his call is not taken but he can renew it, without more success. Does this result in a total silence? In this case, the MC does not know if his call is successful. Does this result in a normal ringing and the correspondent does not answer because on his side it does not ring? And there the MC can ask himself the question of a voluntary rejection of the correspondent. Can an American give some info on this?

Anyone noticed the big Anne "cameo", when the MC goes on airplane?
She looks exactly like Anne from The Adventurous Couple. She has her face, her hairstyle, of course her name. Like Anne from The Adventurous Couple she is flight attendant, flirtaceous and is a hotwife / NTR with her husband. In a cell phone text she even mentions about her husband loving hearing about her "adventures", exactly like the husband / MC in The Adventurous Couple. 2021-09-09_1.jpg

This was a tribute to Mircom, the developer of The Adventurous Couple. I first saw Kentyrr's Anne fan art on Mircom's Discord, and that's where the conversation started that led to our development partnership.

Mircom3D was kind enough to lend us Anne's likeness for that update as an easter egg, and is credited for her appearance in the crawl at the end of the game. :)

One unintended (but amusing) consequence of this is that players who don't know Anne's background often accuse us of using "Porn Logic" for her forwardness with the MC because they don't have the context on her personality to explain her behavior in that scene.

(In short, MC doesn't have a magic dick...George or Walter might have gotten the same proposition. Anne is just adventurous like that.)

So there might be a possibility of a Chasing Sunsets cameo in The Adventurous Couple as well?

There isn't one planned as of this moment, but the least we could do is return the favor if it were requested. :)
Very interesting collaboration between DEVs from different VNs. Are we witnessing the emergence of a consortium, a franchise, a multi-national listed on the stock exchange ?? Regardless, the important thing is the result. Several talented DEVs can only produce even better VNs, right ???

Just a thought, but maybe there was some kind of hidden temptation from MC looking like this : "if I block myself on her phone now, I am then 100% sure I won't make the mistake of calling her later even though I love her and desire her so much". Kind of a security thing to make sure he respects his own decision of leaving.

When i was in this situation i just took the girl's number off my agenda (a finger slip away from one of my best friends)... but i guess he took the nuclear option.
