VN - Ren'Py - Completed - City of Broken Dreamers [v1.15.0 Ch. 15] [PhillyGames]

This game is on another level. First I was a bit sad, cause I've lost my old saves, but playing the whole game reminded me just how great it is. And Chapter 10 is just furthering this impression.

I'm eager to see where the story goes and also what Philly does from now on. I'm here for it all.

Well what can i say, the game is great in many areas, the female characters are some of the best you will see in these games especially the Dr and Victoria. The animations are well made although somewhat short in many instances.

Renders are well made, and its also not really an issue with the lack of scenes more story driven than anything.

Gameplay itself is ok a bit long winded in many parts, but overall again it is not much of an issue as the game does enough to keep you interested and keep looking forward to the next installment.

Only reason for the 4 stars i guess is that the gamecould be more slick in areas, the scenes done a bit better in some places and maybe the story itself could pick up quicker (or drag it out less )

I have enjoyed so far and with a little more work in places this would be an outstanding game. So thank to the Devs for their hard work and sorry for any petty criticism.

Tacky slashfic that successfully imitates the visual and narrative styles of several Hollywood scifi blockbuster franchises. Nothing much else to say on that front other than, if larping as Steven Seagal in the Blade Runner universe makes you horny then this game is about as good as it gets.

If you're actually looking for a good story on a porno game website (Why?! Read a book ffs...) you won't get much out of it. A lot of drama, intrigue, character arcs etc. written in native-speaker level English and depicted as excellently rendered 3d graphics but they lack any depth or originality. I suppose it might impress people who have never seen a scifi/action movie.

Anyway, on to the h-scenes and gfx. Render/anim quality is consistently very good. Models and model animations range from hot to weird and un-sexily unrealistic (especially the neck, shoulders, chest and arms).

Some of the models' faces are also disconcerting. The doctor chick looks like a stork, and the blond mutant girl you rescue looks Australopithecene. The other models are fine.

I liked 4 of the h-scenes and the rest were meh. If m/f bdsm is your thing go ahead and download it, plug in the walkthrough/gallery mod and pick your poison. Just don't expect a lot of it, and definitely don't expect a 'good story'. Seriously, if you're that hungry for scifi noir drama just watch Blade Runner or better yet read the novel it was adapted from.

5/5 upto Chapter 7. Great setting, nice dialog, amazing visuals and music, the girls are some of the hottest you'll find in any game out there.

However the pacing and content in Chapters 8 and 9 are off, not a lot has happened and you don't get to interact with some of your fav LIs much at all.

The biggest strength of the game are the characters. Esp Victoria Shields, the greatest LI in any adult VN I've played.

Amazing game with great writing, beautiful models, very intriguing story and a capable and a protagonist with personality. One of the best games I played so far plot is really good, has a unique atmosphere. Characters are complex, quite believable and interesting. keep the good work.

I've gone through most on here, and I can say this was the best. It's genre is not usually my type, but I had fun reading this, loved the art animation.. serious work was put into this.. and the movements felt so lifelike.. I feel like this is waay underrated.

Just a thing, The only problem was the end of chapter 9 when appears the HUGE mech on top off the building, do U know WHY? Because now I have to wait for the rest of the story. Really I was stucked at my desktop 14h and I'm looking forward to see How the story ends

One of the best games I have played from this site. The story, the characters, the renders, the music, everything is very well done. Only thing I regret is this sets the bar way higher for other games. Kudos to the developer, please keep the good work.

The more I play, the more I like it. Interesting story, intresting character and the concept of lust and score points. So far I'm impressed with everything in it. Looking forward to the new updates and chapters and I'm sure this is gonna be the next big thing.

As someone who loved Depraved Awakening it's hard for me to rate this game. In some ways it's excellent, striving for a story-focused game that encourages you to pay attention, and it mostly succeeds at this aspect. In other ways it falls short of other AVNs I've tried and I'll explain why.

I can't deny the ambition of the developer. This world is based on the Cyberpunk genre, but it has its own established lore. Additional world building is what this game does really well. I just wish there was more of it. The story starts off really open ended and I really felt it could go anywhere, but as it progresses the story goes into very narrow territory. My main gripe is that some of the plot lines are overly slow and take too much time to properly resolve. Because of this the main plot suffers from being dragged on for too long. Don't get me wrong. It isn't the length of the game I have problems with, but I was hoping that after 9 chapters that the story would have evolved a bit more.

I also have a hard time to feel invested at times. The game wants you to feel that the stakes are high and that our characters are in danger, but I don't feel that way. Not only do we have a very competent main character that seem to escape pretty much any situation without serious harm, but the threat vs the main cast doesn't reflect what the story wants you to think. I think the lack of a proper antagonist hurts the game, but that's just me. The game takes itself way too seriously, and that's not a bad thing, but with the context of what I have written previously it does at times break immersion. The humor is rare, but usually falls flat for me.

I do like the main cast. The girls are interesting and very hot, although some of the faces look odd at certain angles. There is a lot of sex in this game, like it should be, but I feel like at times there is little breathing room between the sex scenes and that makes some of them very unmemorable.

I love that there are choices in the game and that you can choose not to be a total manhoe, but if you're not you miss out on a lot of content. As I've only played the game once I can't say for sure how the consequences of your choices play out, but I hope that there will be vastly different endings to the game based on paths taken.

The animations are good, some of the best in business and I really like that animations are used outside the sex scenes to show us more of the city and in driving sequences. There is no grind in the game, and no overly long free-roam sections that break the flow. The hidden photos are easy to find, but they add a nice touch. The music is okay, but I wish it had more tracks as it can get very repetitive at times.

All in all I did enjoy myself, but I can't give this game more than 4 stars based on my previous gripes. The game is not finished, but it's very ambitious. It suffers from not living up to its enormous potential and that hurts the overall experience. I would recommend this game to anyone who enjoys AVNs and the things this game does well it does really well. Great girls, a MC that's not annoying or a douche and a very good setting. Overall it's a good AVN, but it lacks that extra touch to make it a true great. My hope is that the final release will alleviate most of my gripes.

Compelling storyline?: Excellent. If you pay close enough attention, yes. It actually has a world a history and a background.
Characters?: Good/Interesting, not all exactly the same, reliable personality quirks, they seem to stay in character.
Play quality: Good, no excessively difficult puzzles to solve. Choices tend to be easy to make, and have different results, based on your choices. You can actually play it multiple times.

It's been a while I played this and I should have left a review right away as this is one of the best VNs on the site.

Interesting premise and characters, amazing cyberpunk feel when it comes to worldbuilding, sexy sexy girls (I'm looking at you Chandra and Victoria ) that have different personalities and values, slick animations, all this makes for a great game.

The game has not yet been finished and I haven't replayed it so I'm not sure about reactivity but I'm optimistic that the game's choices have and will have consequences juding by the previous game of this developer (Depraved Awakenings).

All in all 5/5, go play it!

Visually speaking, this is possibly the best game on this site with consistent progress. The story line is ambitious but the dev manages to pull it off. Easily top 3 games on this site. This is a review of chapter 9

Just a disclaimer, I've supported Philly for about a year now.

CBD is the most polished game, by far, that I've played on here. The renders and animations are excellent. Lighting really well done! It's a beautiful game to look at.

The characters are all pretty interesting, and they're built up well inside a fairly interesting story. There is some good humor and some serious and sad moments, and with the writing being so good those moments hit home.

I am a player who kinda like the slow play in games, where it takes time to get to the sex with characters, to build actual relationships with them. Philly does a nice job of mixing that up. With some characters, most I guess, whom you can just hop right in bed with, and others who are much slower and feel a little more natural.

It's a game that is definitely on the must play list on this site. Even if a heavy story isn't your thing, you should play this game just based on how nice it looks, and how hot some of the scenes are!

I wouldn't be surprised if a huge media corp like Netflix or HBO straight up signed a million dollar contract to use this game as the flagship to its new Adult-Games branch. It has that Triple-AAA-production-value vibes.

Probably the most top tier adult game I've played in quite a while. Everything about this is Quality Stuff, including the Plot, Characters, Animations, Graphics, Choices that lead to different paths, etc. Brilliant work , Absolutely Excellent.

A great follow up on Depraved Awakening, which was already incredible in its story and graphics. Now this game took it a step further.

The models, from Victoria to Katie to Gloria are just so damn sexy! Victoria is easily in the top 5 of female characters I've encountered in my AVN history.

This time I'm also glad the story is being more clear and easy to follow. While Depraved Awakening was sometimes hard to understand as to why exactly we took that role, in CoBD it's easier to understand the purpose of our character's role and thus makes it more enjoyable.

The only things I don't really understand are if Kay is human or an A.I. and if Vitoria is a robot. It's been very confusing and the glossary wasn't clear enough for me, since English is only my third language.

Either way I've enjoyed playing the game and am excited to see what the future updates will bring.

I made the choice of romance approaches on Katie, Victoria and Ellen, so I'm really curious about what's going to come at me, since I also want to see some action with Gloria - aside from those dreams.

10/10 game.

Another masterpiece from PhillyGames after DA and although the story is still ongoing in this game the quality is even better than DA. And I am positive that the next one would be even more gorgeous. I would await the completion of the game so that I could play it again to the end.

Not for me, none of the girls are attractive (especially the faces) and the story is boring. The implementation of the routes is mostly bad as it is designed to make you miss things, not make actual choices (with a few exceptions).
