is it worth it to get the steam version? or is it better to get the patreon one?

Urchin Quest is most likely shota content with a mostly submissive Claire to the gang of aptly named Urchins, though there is a path where you'll get out mostly unscathed and can get vengeance if you so wish. (Patreon Black Edition)

The Showgirls Questline is more like the Ranch Questline in that it'll see Claire guiding various women in to various lewd services, though it's more pornography-esque than whoring them out. Stuff like live stripteases, sex shows, and more in that vein. if I had to make a direct comparison, it kinda looks like it's shaping up to be like OnlyFans, but like, Claire is in control of the nitty gritty. Seems to be a more dominant Claire than the Urchin Quest. (Steam Edition)

The Complete Edition, which is also on patreon, gives you both so no worries about picking either or. However, to answer your question, it kind of depends on what content you're looking for. If you don't care about either of the questlines, especially in their current early forms, pick whatever's more convenient in my opinion.

On the topic of questlines, it's crazy to know that only like 3 questlines are currently at 50% or higher completion. The Ranch Questline is not one of those 3.

The questline for Claire's Mom seems to be next on the agenda for the next big update, don't know if it'll be totally completed, but it seems to be a push for completion. Depending on how you go about things you'll be able to either prevent her from being traumatized to begin with, or help her mostly recover from the experiences she went through before ya found her. Alternatively you could fuck up and completely ruin any chance of saving her. Sounds fun.

Early Changelog for those who want to know what's new/fixed:
0.22.4
• The start of the Showgirls Questline can be begun in Valos City Slums by buying it from the Landlord. [COMPLETE/GOLD EDITION ONLY].
• New quest, “The Good Doctor”, can be started by accessing the new building, the Clinic, in Valos Inner City. Comes with the accompanying Claire x Genevieve x Chimera scene. Route to side with the Revilliers not yet included.
• The pregnancy system has been added in, along with the first “basic Valos pregnancy” event. If you turn on pregnancy as an option in menu, this can be triggered from most human encounters where they cum inside of Claire vaginally (1 in 5 chance). Alternatively you can force it to happen just by using the new Status Adder NPC in the Gallery.
• Supply merchant in Rathpike now sells anti-monster gear but at a premium markup compared to mercenary suppliers.
• Fixed the new inventory weight system glitching beyond 5-count.
• Added in the ability to dump non-key items from the inventory, from the menu.
• Fixed the Wayside Inn glitching and not letting you leave after you finish the Harvest Festival as part of the Sisters of Fertility questline.
• During the rainstorm event and all future bad weather events, taking more than 50 steps to find shelter will result in Claire getting the Sick status, which can only be purged via Medicine or by finding a clinic.
• Stopped the ability to “run” from weather events after they have triggered.
• Fixed the bug in the Thieves Questline when returning from the quest ported you into the sea rather than outside the Salty Slattern

Showgirls Quest is more brothel-like, with more a focus on the courtier side of things as far as I understand.
Urchin Quest is focusing on the gang of kids that are in Rathpike I believe.

Black Edition has Urchin Quest, but not Showgirls.
Gold Edition has Showgirls, but not Urchin. This is because of Steam's policies and regulation and what have you.
Complete Edition, which I'll be loading around Friday-ish maybe later depending on some things, has both questlines.

Valos Clinic questline. It's a south of the bath house, in the area where you get the ferry to the Cornucopia (Sisters) Island.

This guy really needs to start concluding quests instead of adding them. There's two more island regions he's been neglecting for awhile on top of the massive undertaking that is the continent with its own regions. At this point I really don't know the main point is gonna be with Claire destined to fuck around into stagnation on the archipelagos if nothing gets wrapped up. I know D.Project has to contend with developing the expansion for Overgrown alongside Claire's Quest but the continual self-deprecation of Claire is becoming boring.

It's like they're really going for that Roundscape: Adoveria speedrun.

I just tried it and they seem to work, atleast as far as going to the gallery and walking around worked. Not sure if any problem could raise from it but you could give it a try and keep using the savefiles from the old game version.
