I can't even get the game to boot up for some reason. I have tried multiple versions from multiple distributors, I have tried to run it without WINE, with wine, and from the console with wine, I have rebooted and reinstalled multiple times, I have waited for a sum total of about 2 or three hours for it to load, and all I get no matter what I do is a black screen with white text saying "Now Loading..." and nothing ever loads.

Does anyone have any idea why this is?

Misc information:
OS: Linux Mint
GPU: integrated
The game boots up, does not crash, does not ever load.
I have waited upwards of an hour without interrupting the process just in case, still nada.

You can just add it to Lutris, if you do not want to add it to steam as well. I use it with wine-ge-8-26-x64 (on the GoG version) and it runs fine.

Under the advice of several people in this comment section.
1. I have installed Lutris
2. Ensured that CQ is using Proton 8.0 (using the method from )
3. Ensured that CQ is using DXVK v 2.4.1

However, now Lutris simply does not launch it in the first place. no window opens, no process in the system monitor shows up, and the "play" button becomes perpetually stuck on "launching...". I don't recall if I even got to the loading screen from my original comment the first time i tried with Lutris (before steps 2 or 3).

Edit 1
I ran [lutris -d] and this is the console log:

EDIT:2
SOLVED!!!

Turns out the issue was i somehow managed to install an ancient version of Lutris. Some other guy on the Lutris forums had the same issue, so I suspect we both simply followed the same woefully out-of-date article. Thanks for all the help.

Roundscape Adorevia has a ton of quests and scenes and is completed, also you can choose between male or female MC.
He didn't just complete the game. He kinda completed a few games in one then he kept packing in content. You have the main story and just when you think it ends there's a completely new act. I was stunned. "Well, that was awesome. WAIT! There's more!" That was like two games of content then you can play as a female and that's a least one more game worth of content. Then he kept adding to it and now he's apparently working on a 3D game. The dude is just leveling up his dev skills.
Yeah, the art was inconsistent and there are plenty of bugs but it really cock slaps the piss out of other games. Dude completed something on a much bigger scale than CQ and kept going.

That game is great yea . The only problem is that the art there sucks ass . They made it even worse using AI. And for some reason i can't run the latest version. I can run all the old ones , just not the latest patch.

Three of them and all good , not a dozen amateurs and AI. Most of the time you need to read the text in the scenes just to know what characters you are looking at.

Similarly, Roundscape Adorevia turned me off with its style and excessive use of AI. Because, you know, it's cheaper faster, but not in terms of quality. Maybe also because I got used to the style in Claire Quest. Which I've been following from the beginning. The default development of Claire Quest is planned until 2035. So a lot of things will come. Including changing the game engine, adding more islands and interactions with the world. A more extensive skill tree, a better tutorial, variable weather effects in the game. The style of the line that is currently there will be preserved. No switching to 3D or using AI to create fedex missions.

I am not fully following Claires development (coming back to the game when I remember it :D), so I missed the announcement for their future plans. Which sounds impressive. But I do wonder, what do you know about the Engine change? Like, why? And to which engine?

Do we know for a fact that this will never use AI? cause I am somewhat concerned alot of my faves on f95 will start using AI, already seen one fave using AI now.

Also, does anyone know if developers have a development plan? like, next update we're working on this quest, then update after that is this quest. etc etc.

Hey can anyone say how the game has developed over the last few months? I remember the game being an absolute blast in the beginning but then they somehow lost their main artist and then the drawing quality dropped significantly. Did it get any back of its former glory, or is it just all lame futa stuff now?

As i far as im concerned this project is done. All the content i was looking for is completed or nearly completed ( that being the Baker family path and Sisters of fertility) , i was hoping for some mother-daughter action too but such content is no way near in sight. The game has heavily shifted in to bestiality and rape contend that i don't care about. There are no clear plans when will the main story move forward all the dev is cranking up is more besiality content ( the ovebloated Farm breeding "quest" that serves no purpouse for the rest of the game or story). And you get 4-6 scenes per year on top of that if we are lucky. So development is at snail's rate. So yea im not overly exited about his game anymore. Some dude in coments here said they are planing to develop the game untill 2035 , but thats 10 years from now and i can;t take such a deadline seriously. I mean people lose interest , people move on , or die ! Even the tech itself may not be supported by then. Thats a whole decade ! By then eather the money will dry up or the artists / devs will move on from the project. This game is in development for more than 9 years allready. They are running out of steam. Michelangelo spent 4 years painting the Sistine Chapel . This is just a porn game.

There is a Roadmap on the Discord that gets updated.

We get a Main Quest update in 0.28.3
Temple gets the second to last quest in 0.29.0 (the finale is planned for 0.30.0)
The rest is TBD (not writing everything here =P) and the Roadmap was last updated in April this year.

Just join the Discord and navigate to the cahnnel named "raodmap" in the Dystopian Project Official section.

It appears there are a lot more loose threads to wrap up before the 0.30.0 finale, so I presume updates go 0.28.3, 0.28.4. 0.28.5 etc etc.
