Hello all my lovely fellow detentioneers!
Since my Christmas and New years release predictions were wildly optimistic, I think I owe you guys at least a little sneak peek at what's being worked on, and maybe a quick explanation on why it's late. First off, what's new.
So, you might have noticed the Club menu having a mysterious button that might let you change the room's activity type. The new update will finally pave way to adding the locked options as unlockables. It won't yet add them in, but it creates the story justification for them (I use the term 'justification' very loosely here, heh).
Also, the generic events have been revamped. Instead of random generic events, they are now training events, which feels more thematic and now it makes sense why you'd have to "grind" them with each girl should you want them to learn something or to unlock some personal events.
But to unlock the new activity types will require the full support from the main staff, so you will see more of all of the teachers this time. That's Mina, Jacob, Serena, Nanako and Shirley. Admittedly, some get more screen time than the others and will require more work, but they'll all make an appearance.
Also, you'll be seeing some content for Lauren (if you turned on the trans girl option) and both deflowering scenes for Jennifer. So, the up close and personal and the voyeuristic version where a lucky customer gets to have fun. Though she can only be deflowered once, so pick your battles. Unless you cheat, but yeah.
So, what took me so long? It's a long story. First, we bought a house and while I thought I was prepared for it, the amount of hammering, drilling, renovating, disassembling and assembling was
a lot. The worst part? We lived two months without a reliable internet connection. Oh, and Arc Raiders came out and my best friend "forced" me to play it with him. It was a good three weeks that we pretty much used all our free time on it.
Alongside all that, I've also been trying to come up with a new workflow that might make my renders better, or at least give me more control and finesse. I learned how to use Marvelous Designer to do some cloth simulation on all the clothes (and not just the ones that have physics support in DAZ), and it allows me to do some undressing scenes like the one below, that were previously impossible without a ton of tedium, if even then.
I'm also playing around with some Blender workflows since Blender is just far superior as a rendering tool compared to DAZ...but that's still a bit too much for me. I will keep playing around with it and Diffeomorphic seems like a promising addon.
And this might be the most controversial topic of them all: I've dabbled with AI. Not for image or text generation, but for making videos/animations. Since hand-making animations is super time consuming and rendering that many frames takes bloody forever, I thought this might be a solo developer-friendly approach to them. So, I will probably start releasing an optional AI slop DLC for Club Detention with each update that will contain animations for new scenes and some random animations for the older scenes. I know some people hate AI, so I won't bundle it with the main game, but the option to add them will be there for those who want it (though I dunno how to handle Android). Let me know what you think. Anyhow, I won't use AI to generate the story or the images. Rest assured, Club Detention is still artisanal perversion.
So, I've got both good and bad reasons why I'm so late. Sorry anyways. I hope the amount of lewd content will make up for it.
