I am in contact with RJ - being a mod on her Discord server does that - but I don't speak for her.
I didn't respond to the last couple of messages, because sometimes it's just tiresome.
Picked this up today, seems fine, but the emotional connection to the characters could be deeper. The bit with Jamie at the start and MC being quite blase about it felt like a missed opportunity.
The voice work in the absence of other sex sound effects can also be a little offputting. Someone needs to slap some gurkins round in a jar of mayonaisse and record that shit.
Also, wtf is going on with bicentenial man Mr. Jackson?

Surely that line should just read "....whos family has been running this place since...."

Last time I played I remember the game having an affection/hearts system but it seems it was scrapped. Does that mean the choices in casual conversations don't really matter anymore?

That was scrapped years ago, yes. Most dialogue choices are flavor choices. Not all of them, but if you are about to do something stupid that might lock yourself out of content you'll get a very clear warning.
Seems an inconsistency, thanks for finding it. Will put it into the bugs doc.

its looking like some will have shared endings and some are solo endings. You can just romance them all, save before the end and experience all the endings.

17 or 18 endings planned as far as we know. Some will be solo endings, I guess Suzy & Tammy will get a thruple ending with MC, some won't get an ending, like Mills, and Gertrude, and there will be one harem-style ending. No one knows what that will be like, because RJ cannot create an ending for every possible harem permutation, but I'm looking forward to it.
