If you alienate players from characters they won't be interested to find out if such character can be redeemed later on. You can easily alienate if you overdo the negative first impression. Its one thing if a girl is bithching. The sister manipulates her brother to basically confront a boyfriend who is probably innocent. Thats too much to be considered innocent lie in self-defence. She doesn't wanna face responsibility and throws us in harms way to avoid it.
Why do you think anyone is insterested to redeem her after that? I'm sure there are those who are, but thats not the point. The point is that you alienate a large chunk of players from her plotline, and if this is a tendency with the rest of the girls, the game itself at large. Sure, this can be your thing, that every girl is a huge bitch and the player may or may not make something out of them.
Its a tricky thing. To understand how much you lose with this. You gather some pledgers and can think you do well and its very hard to tell how much you could have gathered if you wouldn't have alienated players with an invasion of unlikable characters they don't wanna touch even with a stick only to end up realizing they want none of the girls you brought at the table.
The girls thus far are selfish jerks. Some hide it behind a supposedly polite, jesting demeanor while others don't even bother with appearances. I'm sure momy dearest had her reasons, i'm sure sis had he reasons, i'm sure purpledash had her reasons... i just don't understand why exactly should i give a fuck about their reasons
That is what some guys around here are telling in a nutshell. If all the girls are introduce themselves with a kick in the balls they aren't interested to invite them in and hear their story. You wouldn't either. You kick back, kick out such twat of your home or even press charges in certain cases. But not invite them to a coffee to be their ashcan. You don't offer a shoulder to cry on. Sure, the mc is bloodrelated to some.. but not the player. And its the player who reads the story. The player won't immediately act toward them with a strong bond and you certainly make an effort to prevent such a bond forming.
I end up with what i already told some while ago. Personalities require some finetuning here. Thats probably the only issue of the VN and what puts this behind the best VNs out there. Too much ugly personalities and i can guarantee you that lots of people want none of that.
And there is momy. Momy appears out of the big blue riiight after the mc is undoubtly rich. How convenient. She even explains it nodoubt unwittingly. "Oh your sis posted tons of pictures.. from your fucking big house, next to your kingsized pool.." Yes yes, momy came to reconcile

You know guys that i believe everything
