I believe this update is setting up a redemption arc for Claire. Without a doubt the correct choice would have been for her and Clara to go to the MC but, as usual, Claire couldn't imagine a snario where she could have made a mistake. Her ego and overestimation of her own ability was the cause of Clara having to pick up that sword. I believe this is why Ren and Claire are presented as being very similar. They are both extreemly smart, cunning, ruthless, cold, calculating, and patient. The only issue is that Ren vastly outclasses Claire in every single one of those categories. The fact that she is so outclassed by Ren will force Claire to gain a bit of humility and prespective. Claire is going to have to come to terms with the fact that she not only got played like a cheap fiddle, but that she is responsible for the fate of her daughter. Something like that will definitely change a person. As for Clara, I agree that there was not much point in her learning to fight up until this chapter. Up until Nael bonded Eda again there was absolutely no reason to fight herself. Even after Eda was bound, her mother was head of the high order who could do the fighting for her, so still there was little point. Eda even mentions that she wants Clara to stay innocent as long as possible so I am guessing that Eda wasn't exactly pushing hard for Clara to learn to fight.Damn im not even the biggest Clara fan (i think shes my least liked LI, i even prefer Jacky over her) but thats just not fair lol
Shes just a little girl and was never asked to become a companion and to become a killer/murderer as if that would be easy for everyone like its for the MC. MC was actually the one who made her into a companion so you could argue her wellbeing is to some degree his responsibility.
And the thing that Clara need/should fight herself is pretty new, until not long ago it was fine when Eda simply fought for her.
Clara and Claire walked into a trap and when there was no other possibility anymore Clara sacrificed herself in the hopes that MC will rescue her, she didnt had any other choice but to watch her mother die.
How can some guys here write like she acting entitled lol, what else is she supposed to do/hope? The MC is her friend/lover and among the most powerful people in the world, OF COURSE she puts her trust in him and hopes he will bring her back, friends help each other.
They did not went on foot because they suspected Albere would panic and flee if he gets aware of the MC coming and the MC agreed to this decision after hearing the reasoning. The plan was fine (until a certain point) as Claire had no way of knowing about Ren's sword in Clara's head.
The stupid part was to continue to drive in the truck after he fought the brotherhood goons already, they would know at this point that its the MC in the truck anyway lol
Let's just hope that this subplot of freeing Clara will be resolved fast, because what I really am looking forward is Nael going on a rampage to save Gab and the fight between the MC and Zero.I believe this update is setting up a redemption arc for Claire. I have thought about this and I don't believe it is a coincidence that we last see Nael about to walk through her portal and in this update we push Jackey through her portal. I am guessing that Jackey catches Nael as she is about to leave to save Gabe. Maybe having Jackey there manages to calm Nael down somehow. I am not sure on that last part but for some reason I can see Nael and Jackey getting along really well. Jackey definitely has a ton of despair and guilt and we know how much Nael likes those types of emotions.Let's just hope that this subplot of freeing Clara will be resolved fast, because what I really am looking forward is Nael going on a rampage to save Gab and the fight between the MC and Zero.
Also I want to see the meeting with Amy's family.
100% agreeI'm assuming the main reasons are that:
- Clara rarely stands up or calls out her mother, Claire's decision-making and has trouble admitting Claire can do any wrong when other characters do so more confidently. Hence why Ren continuously makes comments to Clara that she is in her mother's shadow and Clara doesn't deny such an accusation because there is some truth buried in those statements.
- Clara has been blessed (or cursed/pick your poison) to be bonded to a Dark One as capable, strong, and patient as Eda, but she waste such a gift by hiding in her room/avoiding basic responsibilities like cleaning her room. If Clara even had a ounce of awareness, especially given the risen threats that her mother keeps finding herself in, then she would've toke up Eda's offer to train so much earlier in the story. It's hypocritical that she will now lay down her life/free-will for her mother, but she had plenty of time prior to at least prepare for such an disastrous event. Clara has been apart of this Dark One/Companion saga far too long to act surprised. Could Clara have succeeded in defeating Albere/Unus with just Eda's power and training? I don't know, but at least, she could've held out long enough for the MC to arrive and/or actually uphold her desire to protect Claire's life at all cost.
- Ren is just a hard bargain to sell as likeable amongst not just the Companions, but the entire cast. She is far too unpredictable, manipulative and selfish. She is quick to claim to be some weird force of neutrality, but her actions will move at the speed of light to counter that previous title, if Ren can see herself coming out of conflicts at the very top on both sides. At least, the other Primordials are capable/proven of looking beyond themselves and not just for the sake of their Companions. Now, imagine packaging that type of individual up and dropping that mentality into the mind of someone weak-willed like Clara, who's grand plan results in the MC saving her and Claire's asses again.
This update is funny to me, because the MC could've met up with Claire/Eda/Clara, if he simply went on foot like he literally wanted to. Claire is in no position to make demands of him and needs all the help them can muster, mother figure or not. Time is of the essence, and Claire has already miscalculated how strong Unus/Albere became. Ren's betrayal was unexpected (Not really because her obsession with Clara wasn't). To be stuck holed up in that trailer, moving at a snail's pace in comparison was annoying to say the least.
Anyway, I don't know what will happen to Ren, but if I get the decision to make her suffer (if death isn't an option), I will do so in a heartbeat. As for Clara, like Ren, they are acting within their nature. However, that doesn't mean I like or agree with Ren's perspective. If this is Ren's way of showing to Nael how worthy she is in her eyes, then leave me out of that personally. Now, as for Clara, if she doesn't grow from this mess, then I will also look unfavorably upon her.
Finally, I wish the developer well and continued success, even though this update wasn't amongst my personal favorites.
there is a problem with that.I have thought about this and I don't believe it is a coincidence that we last see Nael about to walk through her portal and in this update we push Jackey through her portal. I am guessing that Jackey catches Nael as she is about to leave to save Gabe. Maybe having Jackey there manages to calm Nael down somehow. I think your timeline is a bit off. Nael left Sam's realm after Amy was created. She created her own realm which exists behind the portal in Gabe's room that the MC pushes Jackey through. I am just assuming that she hasn't went to save Gabe yet because we haven't seen it happen. That assumption could be wrong but I feel like it would be pretty evident if a pissed off goddess was on the warpath.there is a problem with that.
Nael is not behind that portal anymore forgot that??
Samuel forbate her to leave his plane in chapter 9 was it??
till the end of chapter 10 she is in Samuels plane.
that Nael meets Jacky is not possible unless the Rampage from Nael happens at the same time when the MC and Jacky encounter Happens.
What you said about Gabe is 100% true but it also might as well be blasphemy among the fans of the story. Gabe is one of the most liked characters of the entire game. You are absolutely right that he has fufilled his role in the story. In fact, the only way he can actually contribute to the story now is for him to die. That would force emotional struggle in several characters. I have believed he will be killed off for a long time now. In fact, I beleive the reason we haven't really seen an update on his story is because he is a very popular character that is going to die so the author is putting it off a bit to give everyone some time to come to terms with it.Honestly , i dont hate Gabriel or Claire ...but i hate being lied for and both of them being lying for us since the beginning .
Alright Gabriel , for ME , he is a okay character and i feel like his purpose in the game/story has being fullfilled , so if he dies for me doesnt matter . I also dont understand why Nael is so obsessed with him *shrug*
Now Claire ...i dont hate her , but i hate a lot of decisions she took , so im kinda mad with her , but i still will play a save where i "forgive and accept" her decisions just to see what shit happens...
Funny that a "smart" women like Claire felt for Ren 2 times in a row , Ren broke they contract/deal 2 times in a row now and look what is happening thanks to her
Now that i think about it , Claire and Clara could be totally fine and without a single scratch if she just had told the location to Mc and he arrived there way before Unus. Her plan was to use him as a surprise attack , but here is the thing , Ren knows the LOCATION of all her swords , BUT she cant sense or know what is happening or what is around her swords , im saying this because if MC was in the hideout with the girls , Ren wouldnt know about it and the mc would be ready for a counter attack. ( IF Ren could see/sense what is happening around her swords, she wouldnt make a deal with Claire to have satelity views in real time so she can see what is happening ). Also Claire statment about "if you were here with us , he would sense u and run away" , thats not true , im highely sure that Unus is not a sensor type of dark one , im not saying he cant sense others dark ones , but we know that so far , all dark ones have a speciality and Unus doesnt have the sensor type , yes Unus could sense that "we"/mc are strong but dont know how much or which dark ones we belong to and in case you forgot , Cirara is the best sensor dark one even tho she is not a primordial she is still the best in sensoring type AND she belong to us/mc.
Also the we/mc could just had waited inside the "House of Diversion" , because theres no way Unus would know that we were there , we could just sit inside the first door and just wait for his arrival. That was it , the mc would be there to intervene and protect the girls and Unus would have the surprise attack that Claire wanted so much...
All that seems very possible and very logical , the only reason didnt happened this way , is because the dev wanted to create more "drama" for the game , i dont know if people are losing interest in the game for him to force a event like that to happen so " let me create a drama that doesnt make much sense and finish in this cliffhanger to see if i can keep people interested in the game "
Yeah im kinda pissed about this last event , maybe because the event i said above was a high possibility and more logical that the event the dev created and specialy the cliffhanger...
Well i have to wait and see now what is going to happen in the next chapter
The thing is that a whole chapter dedicated ONLY to the battle with Unus is too much, I mean we didn't see a single scene with Nael after the previous cliffhanger, moreover we have THREE sex scenes in the truck (totally useless). It would have been way more balanced to have:I dont get what your guys problem is, it sounds like you want the MC to kill everyone in a single chapter, become guardian and story is done lol
I agree that the reasoning why the MC wasnt there to fight unis was a bit hamfisted but in the end its meant to show that the MC cant be everywhere at the same time and cant be the solution for every single fucking problem in this story.
Would you guys have realllly prefered mc just killing unis and ren and everythings good and now were gonna hunt zero and afterwards are done? Zero isnt even stronger anymore than the MC at this point (or not much) so its not like its this super big deal (and mc could even ally with emma).
I would like the MC to take action and hunt down zero (because of what he did to gab & emma) on his own but it doesnt have to happen immediately. I feel like (and hope) we will be confronted with more new powerful beings like the new clara during the course of the story and dont mind the development at all.
Kinda curious about Ren's goal now, will she now ally with zero? Or maybe even with MC to achieve whatever her goal is and make some kind of deal with him?
Dont think gab has overstayed his welcome and suspect hes gonna ascend with nael together (you guys just want to fuck nael, forget it)
