I get that, but I feel like if it's resolved that soon, then that moment of her giving herself over to Ren loses most of its impact. Like how people complain about death not mattering in comic books because they get brought back eventually (except Uncle Ben).I just hope that this whole Clara/Ren thing will resolve in this chapter.
We have too many subplots still open.
I don't think the Clara/Ren situation will resolve quite that quickly either. It seems to me that is meant to be the next major story arc to overcome.I get that, but I feel like if it's resolved that soon, then that moment of her giving herself over to Ren loses most of its impact. I also wonder if Ren still plans on pretending to be Clara or not, since that was her original plan before it fell apart.
I think that Ren spilling her original plan to Clara in the episode was a way of telling us as the player what was expected to happen and won't now since it's gone to shit.I don't think the Clara/Ren situation will resolve quite that quickly either. My guess would be the next update will be the start of the rescue Clara arc, with the Nael/Gab situation being a side story that's hopefully touched on or even resolved.
Ren might try and pretend to be Clara but I don't see the MC buying it. Especially not when he's so familiar with Rens powers at this point and his dark ones know her "scent" for lack of a better term. They've shown they can recognize Rens influence when they encounter it. Add to that the MC and his dark ones all know Ren was specifically targeting Clara, so if she seems even a little off they'd be suspicious enough to dig into what's going on.
Yeah I agree. But I'm suspicious about what she claimed her plan was. She says she didn't know Unus/Albere would be that bloodthirsty. But he repeatedly showed throughout the game just how bloodthirsty he is, and he made no secret of his intense hatred for Clare. If Ren actually expected him to be less violent toward Clare and Clara she's either kind of dumb, or he acted exactly how she wanted him to. And the whole story she fed Clara was just to try and make herself seem not too terrible so Clara would be more willing to submit.I think that Ren spilling her original plan to Clara in the episode was a way of telling us as the player what was expected to happen and won't now since it's gone to shit.
Ren cannot pretend anymore, because the MC and Claire already know that Ren is possessing her. But dragging this plot for too long will be annoying.I don't think the Clara/Ren situation will resolve quite that quickly either. It seems to me that is meant to be the next major story arc to overcome.

1 is a major subplot that might take more time, yeah.Ren cannot pretend anymore, because the MC and Claire already know that Ren is possessing her. But dragging this plot for too long will be annoying.
In my opinion, one of two things will happen: either Clara and Ren come to an agreement (similar to Caitlin Snow/Killer Frost, where one of them take over according to the situation), or thanks to his rulebreaking, the MC will take Ren's power for himself.
Anyway, this subplot needs to be resolved fast, because we still have many others open:
1. Nael/Gab;
2. Amy's family;
3. Jacky's debts;
4. Emma's power.
So, unless the dev closes the other subplots in the next chapter, Clara/Ren MUST be resolved quickly.
I think Ren really struggled to comprehend that a mere little human would disobey her orders, shes very ... aloof and convinced of her own superiority which imo compromises her judgementYeah I agree. Pretty sure that's how it will be, since the last time we saw Nael was her locating Gab from one of MC's cloned phones and overpowering Sam to leave her domain, seemingly to go rescue him.Nael might just storm off to save Gab on her own, with the MC only finding out what happened after that's all over with.
Yeah this is true, she's definitely arrogant and could have compromised judgment due to that.I think Ren really struggled to comprehend that a mere little human would disobey her orders, shes very ... aloof and convinced of her own superiority which imo compromises her judgement
Tbf we lack information about Albere's dark one which seems to be at least very unique/different compared to the usual dark ones, its possible thats due to his dark ones influenceYeah this is true, she's definitely arrogant and could have compromised judgment due to that.
But Ren has supposedly been manipulating people for thousands of years, so she should be fairly good at reading them. Especially because she can get into their minds to know exactly what they're thinking and feeling. Even Albere/Unus being a companion doesn't protect him against her mental powers, as shown with Clara and the other companions Ren has manipulated.
I think that Ren knew Albere would crash out because of his intense hatred for Claire. This was part of her plan because the only way that Clara would accept Ren taking her over would be if either the MC or Claire would be in mortal danger. This is exactly how it played out at the end of the chapter with Clara allowing Ren to take her over.Yeah this is true, she's definitely arrogant and could have compromised judgment due to that.

I think were over the point where the mc will receive utter defeats, even if ren will defeat him (which i doubt already), strongly doubt he will be steamrolled.I really hope that the MC doesn't get his rear handed to him by Ren like he did with Matt. It should be a good fight but he should be able to hold his own. I am concerned that Clara being very good at moving the energy of a dark one will be the justification for having Ren just wipe the floor with the MC. That would be a bit disappointing.
Yeah, I wouldn't mind that either. I also wouldnt mind an inpass where nether of them gets the upper hand so Ren just retreats or something along those lines. It would make sense that the MC and Ren are pretty even right now. The MC has three Primotials and Ren is a lesser Primortial with Clara's special ability along with her really powerful sword.I think were over the point where the mc will receive utter defeats, even if ren will defeat him (which i doubt already), strongly doubt he will be steamrolled.
I suspect clara/ren slips away while our mc gets to beat down albere, which i wouldnt mind that much
I hope MC does get his ass handed to him at least somewhat. Imagine how absolutely intimidated Ren is going to be constantly killing him only for him to get back up again and again. Ren kinda comes across as a bit of a control freak and somewhat insecure to me. MC getting his ass kicked but constantly coming back not just unphased but actually getting stronger as he adapts to fighting a primordial would fuck with Ren's head so badly. I don't think she'd well tolerate his powers very much even if she was kicking his ass.I really hope that the MC doesn't get his rear handed to him by Ren like he did with Matt. Maybe. I believe what would mess with her head more than anything is to have Nael come out on the MC's side. I think it is clear that Ren worships Nael as a god so having her God tell her that she is wrong would, at the very least, be a very humbling experience for her.I hope MC does get his ass handed to him at least somewhat. Having said that I really doubt the whole Clara/Ren thing will be resolved within one update. Gotta keep us on our toes.
