Make sure that the Confidence Man.html file is in the same folder as the "images" folder, NOT in the "images" folder itself. Then run the html file from there. I've tested it on Chrome browser so I know it works on that. Let me know if you still have trouble.
I'm really enjoying this game, but I'd like to make a suggestion - the character notes/student file sections should be a bit easier to navigate. As it is now, you have to close out of the entire thing and reopen it just to switch characters. This is quite tedious, especially in the section where the game won't progress at all untill you open each student file. A way to just go back to the character selection menu would make a world of difference.
It is fucking insane how much effort was clearly put into this game. Everything is top notch, the writing, the presentation, the pictures. In fact, it is so good, that it it makes me think it will never ever be finished, just because of how much effort was clearly put into it and it still is only 0.1.1. Or at least that would be the case if this was the average developer, and this guy is clearly leagues above average.

Have you tried clearing your cache/cookies? Happened a few times with other larger HTML/Twine games and that usually works for me. Make sure you download a save first, though, just in case.
OK, I found some info and I think I know what's happening. Chrome allocates 10mb of space for local storage, data from html files that are run from your hard drive, like the game. You seem to have run out of allocated storage. Apparently the 10mb is shared for ALL local html files, so if you have a lot of...say...dirty dirty html porn games that you've played
...I think you get the ideaYou should first try clearing your cache and cookies. If that doesn't work, I would suggest running it on a different browser. Firefox, apparently, allocates storage differently so that may be the best one to try if the cache/cookies clearing doesn't work. Let me know how it goes!
