Latest update report please?
I agree, using Honey Select was the way to go. Out of curiosity, I played the DAZ-built demo, and it felt like a downgrade version of the game. The characters and scenery were bland, and the infected looked way too creepy. As a fan of bloodlines I was recomended this one and while I didn't like every single content in it I can honestly say I liked most.
First of all, thank you for being a dev that can shut those people who always complain about "HS novels cannot look good, DAZ or death!" down. I prefer HS aesthetics way more and yours looks not only fantastic but among the best I've seen done in Studio.
Second, I'm very happy that pretty face Ken officer got corrupted and off the story fast. I was so scared he was gonna become a third main character and a romance for Sarah, whom I hope she gets as many rword scenes as Ava. Both look lovely and I'm sure the boss will as well (Not sure if their gender was mentioned but I got big 40 year old female alpha vibes from Sarah's boss). Ill be playing this update to update since it's basically one of my favourite genres.
i dont play both demo (hs and daz) but they are demo so expected to be somewhat unpolished.I agree, using Honey Select was the way to go. Sometimes, it is better to be hungry than be fed little by littleI'm surprised no one has posted the free previews here. We'll have our Beta release in the coming days. Here are some previews of the chapter 3 and the updated main menu.

estimated end of this month (still 2 day to go) or early next month for subscribestar release.when is the release?
Gotta respectfully disagree a bit here. The DAZ demo had some genuinely creepy vibes (infected are supposed to be) and scenes to build from, in HS the infected pretty much became 'gray humans' (HS being rather limited in that space) and a good chunk of the grounded horror feeling was lost; Kathy looked a police officer in DAZ, in HS she had what I would describe more of "Barbie in a cop costume" look (this is something that I hope isn't read like an indictment of author choice, I'm just pointing to an easily-digestible example of a drastic divergence in the two versions).I agree, using Honey Select was the way to go. Both HS and DAZ have their own pros and cons and their own fans.Gotta respectfully disagree a bit here. Anonymous users were essentially given a binding decision between survival horror homage and anime and one can pretty much set their watch to 'anime' bias in an internet poll. Generally that's why authors go with an educated choice on the engine that best suits the tone they want for their story and/or whether they want to eventually list it on storefronts (which this game's author now cannot do); if this decision was always left up to user polls any popular DAZ VN would likely be on HS instead, the concept just felt like a short-sighted idea with far-reaching consequences. The unfortunate outcome of releasing two differing versions of something for a poll with the intention of only pursuing one is that no matter the outcome, there will inevitably be a tragic case of "what could have been" for half of the vote.
The two demos I believe were dramatically different enough in tone that it could be argued that, despite de facto being different visual renders of the same opening scene script, thematically they were the starts of two distinct VNs with one of them destined to be abandoned. It's a long settled discussion and everything, but dang does it hurt at times to go back to the DAZ demo and see the promise and visual theming that will never have a followup.
Daz is one of the worst softwares to use for animations. This is a generally accepted fact. Blender(not one dev uses this), VAM and HS are superior. That tentacle scene would take a long time to animate and still wouldn't look as good. Daz is just widely used since there are a plethora of "free" assests to download, hence almost all games have the same looking girls with the same animations at that. I doubt the game would have this much content if he stayed with Daz.snip
A lot of devs are using Blender for animations. Those animations you see in the top Daz games? Yeah, those were done in Blender. You're barking up the wrong tree if you're citing animations as some sort of "death blow" against Daz renders. Faced with the argument that Daz is "just widely used" because of free assets, one could just as well counter with saying HS is "just widely used" because the sex animations were already done by someone else (nobody would say this, just as nobody would make your claim). Devs choose the engine based on the style, tools, workflow, etc. they're aiming for or are comfortable with, to claim the creators that do use Daz are only using it for "free" (accusing them of theft?) assets is just nonsense; up until just two years ago, HS2 wasn't even officially available for sale in the west (and HS1 still isn't AFAIK) so....where were Western devs getting it? Better just not to open cans of worms in glass houses.Blender(not one dev uses this)
This is true. That said, there's multiple posts earlier in the thread that voted HS, as requested when asked their preference, and then carried on by belittling the dev's "skill level" with Daz, despite their work being reasonably solid in both versions. When asked for a vote on Option A or Option B, it isn't really the best form to gaslight the author into hating their own work as an argument for one's choice. And it's a little strange to still be seeing "Daz sucks" posting going on in this thread months later after "winning", it comes across looking a little bit insecure. Both HS and DAZ have their own pros and cons and their own fans.
Whichever side the dev choose, they will make someone disappointed or statisfied.
Which top games? Being a Dik? AWAM? They are all on Daz, not blender... It's not barking up the wrong tree. HS is far better for animations than Daz. Daz has garbage timeline, stiill has buggy IK, and Animate2 has been updated in years. HS's entire point is to make custom poses and animations, a sandbox sex simulator. It has built-in jiggle physics for crying out loud.A lot of devs are using Blender for animations. Those animations you see in the top Daz games? Yeah, those were done in Blender. Animations. Did you just stop halfway through the first sentence? They are all on Daz, not blender
WHiCH GAMES?Animations. Did you just stop halfway through the first sentence?
We're talking about the source of renders for AVNs, not which program is a "sandbox sex simulator" game.
