The simple and damn truth is that this game has never been popular and its Author never cashed anything from it (almost).

I'd be really surprised if we saw another update ever. Sadly.

(now, just to be clear: this is my second favourite AVN ever)
I used to like it too, but it was just getting sooo slow (and i'm not bitching about dev time. The story itself got slower and less interesting over time). MC seemed to be getting nowhere fast with any of the LIs, least of all with the one LI that is actually interesting, Elsa. A lot of the characters had more unlikeable traits than likeable ones, particularly MC and Alice. Worst of all, this AVN was severely lacking in the Pronz.

For me at least, this VN went from really high interest to mild interest to almost no interest at all. I don't even think I ever got around to finishing the last update because it just seemed like more of the same. I almost think that this isn't the proper medium for this dev. He might be better of writing a novel instead of making an AVN.

Why does it feel like there's a high mortality rate for AVN devs? This fucking sucks man. Hoping his family is okay.
I feel like some devs simply do not have the work rate nor interest to work on the game as soon as the launch honeymoon phase is over, especially for games that don’t blow up that much.

Also, I assume a lot of them jump in without a solid framework of the story and have to make stuff up on the go, which inevitably leads to fatigue.

My first guess would be that you're (we're) more aware/more likely to learn of AVN devs dying (because you care about/pay attention to AVNs, and AVN devs being mostly solo devs with ongoing projects, so deaths are more "noticeable"), so it's not a difference in rate but in noticed rate.
Which isn't to say the rate might not also be higher (compared to the overall population, with a similar age and gender distribution), but we'd need data to examine that.
