Yeah, not sure I buy it either.
Everyone was unemployed at one point. I was unemployed a month ago, for like 2 months, I was unemployed.
I sent like 2-3 job applications a day, landed a couple of interviews and got my new job.
I spent like, maybe half an hour a day looking for a job, sending job applications, etc. and that's that.What else is there to do really?
In the meantime, in the 2 months of unemployment I got money from Unemployment insurance. (That's why you pay into Unemployment insurance, of course).
I don't know what the developer means, that he is too busy looking for a job. - I get that it takes priority - but it doesn't take that long on a day-to-day basis. You take like ~15 minutes to send 2 Job applications per day, and then you're done for the day. That's what I did.
In the meantime, you receive your unemployment benefits and well that's it.
What's the issue here? Is the OP seriously suggesting he spends 8 hours a day sending job applications?
No wait, that would be normal work hours - and he was able to develop the game, while having a job and normal work hours, so he spends MORE time now - He spends 10 hours a day sending job applications?
I have a hard time believing that.

It's sad how things have started to pan out. While the game did started looking up sexual content wise, the story direction itself has been a bit of a mixed bag for me. And now the dev is facing financial challenges. If that is truly the case, I do hope he gets his life back on track soon.
Good or not, I'd still hate to see a game get abandoned because someone had to make a choice between money and passion. Hopefully he lands on his feet on this one.

I wonder how many hours a day he is looking for a job?, 8-12 hours?, I believe alot of us where unemployed at some time, when I was unemployed I was writing around 10x applications a week, that took me about an hour writing them and bringing them to the post office, nowadays they want applications only through email which also saves time, so in my opinion he has more time for the production of the Game.
I believe he doesn't want to work on the game anymore, and is looking for an excuse not to continue, just looking at the past releases, the quality started to dwindle.
For me, the game is dead and gone, sad but true.

Being unemployed doesn't mean you only spend time sending job applications but you also take the time to upskill yourself in your field. Otherwise sending job applications means nothing. You won't get any calls if your skill level isn't appreciated.
I remember spending 12 hours a day after a year of being out of a job to study and learn ML/AI. And after 6 months, I finally got the call I was looking for. We have no idea what kind of job or expectations the dev is looking for but I am sure taking time to search for a new job means they are serious.
Nevertheless I hope the dev finds some time to finish this game whenever he could possible and hope he get that job as fast as possible. It would be a pity to let this game go unfinished despite the controversies.

I wrote him a public message on Patreon, I believe he could have lost his job, but I believe he is more just tired of continuation of the Game, in the past he had excuses about his health, and now he is going to be job hunting 12 or 24 hours a day?, I was unemployed, my friends where unemployed and that is on 5 continents, and job hunting is almost the same in all countries, applications are all the same, all you do is change the letter head and company name and send it off, in any case, if he would have just said I'm tired of making games and I'm moving on, I would have had no problems with that, but saying he would come back, hoping that some Patreons would still pay him is just sad. He could just have canceled all payment charges, instead of making people hope that he may return.

The developer already had a creative crisis before the New Year! This was followed by a statement that now everything is in order and we can move on with renewed vigor! Well, now apparently the Developer has a dark streak in his life! It happens! We need a sabbatical and show character to solve problems! I sincerely wish the Developer good health and success in his work and personal life! We'll be waiting, don't forget your promises...
It honestly could be a combination of factors like burnout etc. Idk whether he would job hunt 12-24 hours a day but what I talked about was devoting a lot of hours to learning which many people do and it works most of the time.
He did say to people to withdraw support if they want to and didn't give any deadlines to make people hopeful. The only reason I could think he didn't pause subs is because the extra support could help him and that he still hasn't given up on the game and I would like to believe that. That's my opinion.

And that also reflected in income, which can be seen from the graphics. Pick was last November, with 1200$ per month, but after that it slowly declined to 620$. He estimated that there were no earnings in the long run and decided to pull the plug.

Your explanation is highly realistic, like you have more leeway and freetime now since you lost the job, and checking job postings or sending out an application wouldnt take that long even if u need to taylor the application.
I was thinking that maybe he got aware that the project, at some point is just beyond saving or its just that he was expecting a revenue by now in which didnt happen since its not even 200USD amount he's getting.
Or just losing passion on the game since im pretty sure lots of the "planning" poured into ir got demolished and reconstructed at some point which needed to happen unless you want patreon to ban you from their platform.
But seriously, him losing a job? Nah... That sounds more like an excuse to me

Yes, the VN had some flaws, but overall, it was above average. There was mystery, corruption and nice lewds. I subbed this game for awhile. While I try not to be pessimistic, as many have stated before, I think this VN is over. Such a shame, would’ve liked to see how it ends.
Even those who like NTR would agree that this one's execution of NTR is dogshit.

I still say, that since this is such an "open" platform, any game that is posted and not worked on and considered abandoned or such should become "open" to anyone unless the developer filed some legal patent or documents that could cause issues. Then someone else could essentially pick up the game and carry on with it. The assets should all be there so.... Especially if the developer was contacted and asked explicitly. Frankly I would anyone uses those assets to make the next chapter of the same game should be fine to do so, its kinda like a tribute to the original but the new developers work using the same models and story. Doubt this will be an issue as at some point the games all become the same and characters and stories all become the same too. Just call it something else
I mean its kinda predictable since a few updates ago. People just started to throw a fit when he did clara like that. Seriously? She was drunk and got fucked by leon.
The premise was she's a highly resilient woman who dont get swayed easily. In a nutshell.
That was the start. Then as ive said if she got fucked once, its gonna happen all over the next update. No more mysteries after that. Was considering subbing at some point till that hotel scene. Seriously.
Total let down but people still believed it will still be worth supporting, being on an optimistic side. Did that happened? Nah... She's just a dog in heat now. Getting fucked over by all male cast except the MC.

I have seen it time and time again, that a developer adds more and more side characters and it becomes a lot of work for the dev.
First, we just had Leon, but then more and more stuff got added, the sexy time for X, Gunnar, seducing the boss (and his son), then the mother also shows up, etc. etc. And now her dad was added aswell, as yet another side character.
I hope the dev didn't overdo it with all the different characters he introduced and now it's too much work for him. I also skip most of the characters that aren't Leon, so I might have missed one.

I need more Anna and Allen scenes. Them growing closer, then an Anna and Clara scene where Anna taunts Clara about how Clara's an unfaithful whore (shows pics from X of Clara and Leon) and how she's going to take Allen from her.
Clara’s growing confusion about being a faithful spy vs being a honeypot spy, and her ever growing need of X’s support to complete any missions.
I want to follow the story already started like who X is and what’s his motivation. Are Leon and X a team? or part of Specter? Maybe the agency set this all up to train Clara, and X is actually Director Paula.
Sad, but I don’t think I’m going to see it, or ever going to get those answers.
