I do wonder if it would make sense for him to wrap up here, continue into act three and then once the main story is done add extra stuff in act 2 and 3.
It's not like these events are that crucial to the progression anyway.

I wouldn't, but I almost never represent the majority.

If someone knew when the point of no return was they could just make a save to see the extra events. Given the main plot is cute girls doing cute things I'm happy with no girl left behind Worst case gallery save for those that want more porn and less gameplay

that wouldn't really work. Imagine if now near end of act 2 he added 3 dates and 1 sex scene to emma or another girl in act 1. people wouldn't want to lose progression and would feel torn on what to do. emma fans would feel betrayed and would be conflicted weather to restart or not. there would be a riot, some would quit the game and some would go argue against those who feel wronged defending the game. someone might weaponize report system again. it wouldn't be pretty.

but is there anything to gain by alienating an unknowable number of fans, players and patrons? not really

as far as side content it either wouldn't matter so why bother or it is favorite of many and thus likely worse
you both seem to like Claire so imagine her content gets mostly cut off as is we go to act 3 have some content of Claire in that act and then 9 months in there is a rework of that content (adding an additional layer of issues to this) and 10 new scenes added to act 2. a bit shitty I'm sure you'll agree

Yes? You complain that some scenes aren't in the gallery, but the ones that aren't in the gallery are the ones that you can go replay in the game proper. The gallery has scenes that are one-time scenes that you can't just go visit the girl and do any time.

"if I have one gripe" are the words I used. And stating it as an observation isn't the same thing as complaining.

Regardless if the scenes are repeatable or not, it can be seen as a nuisance for the gallery to not have these scenes. In my own opinion, galleries are best served to find out which scenes you have, or have not seen, and then to be able to later see those scenes easily and accessibly. Having to, for example, wait for the time period to be afternoon or evening, speak to Lily, buy alcohol, go to club, then do a 3 question quiz to see a repeatable scene isn't quite super easy and accessible. And you shouldn't have to remember these steps to see a favorite scene again in a game you have completed already. <But all this falls mostly into opinion territory, where it might be construed as complaining, although calling someone's shared thoughts on a subject complaining is in bad taste. All in all, I don't think having repeatable scenes is a suitable replacement for a complete gallery. Not to say having repeatable scenes is a bad thing in and of itself, I love seeing the intimacy count rise on best girl Jessica, and the game even implements bonus costumes as a reason to re-watch repeatable scenes. I just also think they should be in a gallery after viewing. But not having this feature certainly doesn't detract from the experience in an enormous way, it would just be nice to have. I really, really enjoy the work the Arcgames has put into the game, and I wouldn't want to miss any of it.

after a bit of looking around at other games, I've got a bit of odd praise for this game and the developer, they're impeccable at keeping file sizes down. after looking around at a number of other games, specifically ren'py games using koikatsu models, I can't find a single game with a download under 4 GB, while the current update only takes up 1.16 GB. Can't help but wonder why there's such a huge size discrepancy, but I'm no coder.

The resolution of this game is 720p while others try for 1080p or higher which naturally takes up more space.

Compression is a big part of that. Some devs still use png instead of webp. Having the animations in webm helps but the animation loops are a lot smaller in this game as the dev doesn't play with the camera much, you're lucky to get 3 seconds of looping animation. Audio is another thing and many of the tracks are in mp3 format with 128 kbps or less.

Reusing assets is another way to save on space. Same animations loops with just the models swapped out, same music playing during major events, etc. Doesn't help that many koikatsu inspired games use the same bathroom, home, and other general locations.

By come back it means go somewhere then go back.
It's two events like that.
First one you meet Emma, Second one apppears after progressing Emma (check her room during the night, progress until you unlock the college)

Pretty much all the models changed around two years ago back in 0.7.0

As to why, well Arc's a dingus and was using unedited models that weren't his own and the original authors got a bit pissy when they eventually found out.

To be fair, I don't think he was expecting the game to get as big as it got when he first started.
Not like anyone would've given half a shit for a random small-fry amateur project that doesn't even get past 100 patrons.

Still, could've fucking edited them a little bit, even a pallete swap could've done the trick.

The videos are prerendered, so reusing the animation doesn't make any difference to the size, they each need a different video. Likewise the backgrounds of the images make no difference to the file size. It's the lower resolution and that he's using a modern compression format that does it.

It's not like the game has a lot of grindy mechanics so blitzing through it with ctrl or tab to skip already seen content would regain lost ground rather quickly. Fomo is a thing that has happen before when the dev says look at the changelog but forgets the changelog will get buried with time. Safer to make a save before jumping into the black void just in case as when we moved to the manor for an update or two people were trapped there and Pixie no longer plays on the laptop.

Well, that depends on a LOT of different things. But if you want a game with great replay value, lots of choices and girls, and is a pretty good balance of smut and story, I'd suggest College Daze.

If you have specific requests, I may be able to help. I will mention that I mostly know games with either corruption, male dom, pregnancy, mind control, and/or harem (and by harem, I don't mean I fuck lots of women and end up with one or some bs like that). And I stay away from most ntr and female mc games, different reasons for each though.

but really ALL suggestions in the category of "pushing the boundaries" are what im looking for. The farther away from generic renpy VN with a weak harem and a pregnancy ending you can point me, thats where id like to go!

(i love jrpgs, just not what im looking for in the porn category) though I dont mind some combat oriented gameplay if its more "mini game" and really kinda autowin style for example in the style of Astral Lust's combat card game thing, where you can easily slide the difficulties out so every battle is quick and autowin

actually Astral Lust (and CorruptKingdms) is kinda good example of the direction of games im interested in. non-traditional story, non-traditional setting, interesting psychological stuff (though astral goes kinda far in that regard), and especially player Agency in the game (like having a Townmap and a schedule etc) are all solid traits im looking for usually... but again thats the stuff that im actively searching for and playing, so what i was hoping to get from you was suggestions going even farther beyond that any games you might recommend that are even more unique than that. (harem tag is always an added +)

Sounds like you're into games that I tend to like. As I suggested in the last post, College Daze. Its currently one of my fav porn games, if not my fav atm.

Hmmm. I'm not really sure what you'd consider pushing the boundary. I tend to think of games that do more than just have a linear story but don't rely heavily on sandbox features and has a good story and characters with a good balance between sex and story to be pushing the boundaries. College Daze is a good example of that.

I also suggest Incubus City because its finished and has so much replay value.

Champion of the Realms is similar to Corrupted Kingdoms, but doesn't do much different except the story and characters. Not saying they're the same or anything close to that, but the style is similar.

I also really enjoy Harem Hotel. It has a lot going for it but updates have slowed down recently.

Long Live the Princess is one of the best corruption games in my opinion. I say that because the corruption isn't instant. Its not a "I cast a spell and now you're my whore" or "I rape you once and now you're mine" type deal. So if that interests you, its a good one.

There are others I'd suggest but you already said no combat so... yeah.

i was enjoying the headmaster recently as well but its also incomplete. I dont mind incomplete games though, because i go back through my collection and update them every few months (have continued to enjoy even more standard ones like BeinADik for example), so ill take those suggestions as well
