I'm hoping we've been accruing hidden karma points that will start influencing dialogue.
We haven't. Checking the script to confirm I've remembered things right is quicker than playing the whole game again, so that's what I've been doing. The choice to have Gwen use her body to keep Mark quiet sets a flag, but the choice between 'What have I done?' and 'He could be a problem' has no lasting consequences. And if something like that is going to get added later, I really hope it's done well, with multiple variables to track different aspects of his personality. One-dimensional karma systems always suck, even if they aren't all as bad as Fallout 3 or KotOR 2.

You make some good points and I fully agree with the shaping them into better people route(?).
For me it's really a 'they're mine now and I'm keeping them, but that doesn't mean I'm going to treat them badly' route. Think pets rather than toys, the point is that while they are his now they are also still people, not objects. The dark route would be simply using them for his pleasure without caring how they may or may not feel about it (for example not asking Chloe if she's happy).
We also don't really have confirmation of what the actual home situation was for Chloe and her sister so we kind of have to wait for the update that clarifies that to really know what kind of person Chloe was/is to those close to her.
It's not certain, no, but we can try to infer things from what we have seen, and that's what I think until we have more information.
Mark did overreact (I forgot he threatened to kill Gwen, I thought he was just threatening the MC), but the choices between 'what have I done' and 'he could be a problem' was before Mark showed up. Whatever his thoughts were before Mark showed up probably changed after Mark threatened to kill him and Gwen, which is likely why it seems/is inconsequential, or it's just one of the typical VN choices that slightly change the text after the choice and nothing else.
Yes, but not in the way you think; I chose 'He could be a problem' so before he met Mark my MC was unconcerned about the 'ruining her life' thing, and after seeing what a dick Mark is, his thoughts change to 'oh no, I ruined her life by breaking up her relationship with this violent thug'. It's a shame because these two events would be perfect places to give the player input into MC's attitude. But with Gwen the choice is inconsequential, and with Chloe you aren't given a choice at all. What I'd like to see is the MC's thoughts after Gwen's event depend upon what choice you made earlier, and give the player a similar choice in Chloe's scene. I'll admit I'm not sure what the dark choice for Chloe's scene should look like though; even when playing as a dark character I don't know if I would be OK with hurting a little girl.

P.S. ArcGames I looked into it and adding right-click/escape functionality to the in-game menus is stupidly easy in Ren'Py, I'd wager it could be done with a single smart find-and-replace command. Just insert a line like the following into the script after each instance of the close button:
Python:
imagebutton auto "gui/button/close_%s.png" action [ Hide("cc_small_screen1"), Show("nav_screen")]
key "game_menu" action [ Hide("cc_small_screen1"), Show("nav_screen")]

To be brutally honest, I'd go with Pixie's idea of fucking Gwen and forcing Mark to watch it all.
The reason? Two reasons, really.
1. I have the power to build a world I'd enjoy, therefore, it's my right and duty to use it, my ethics dictate that I'm not allowed to deal damage to someone who never dealt damage to me but, since Gwen was involved with keeping me locked up, fucking her mind was justified and whoever stupid enough to challenge me is begging to be punished without any restraint.
2. He reminded me of Mark Zuckerberg, this is reason enough to make him suffer.

Now, going back to my original idea for a comment (I went off in a weird tangent but hey, who's to stop me?)
There should be more player input and, if not for a karma system, something akin to a clear 'route' (which could be made by just having the dialog being made to suit the prior decision or something like that, I can't make a good explanation about how that would work cuz this is the first time I'm putting this shit into words, so gimme a break.)
His "what have I done" is truly meh. I'd go with: "The world can be mine if I play my cards right, it's time to take careful actions. I'll need to talk to my girls so I know everything about them and their life so that things won't get out of control."

ALSO, I WANNA PROTECC CHLOE'S SIS. (Chaotic Neutral, obviously)

EDIT: About the dark route for Chloe, you could go with NOT having Chloe act like a human with her sister, thus using shatter on the lil' girl.
I mean, if Dark is your route, you can go as fucked up as you want, there's nothing to stop you.
Also, it would be an OPTION, anyone who isn't okay with this could very well not do it.
EDIT 2: A not-so dark approach would be to use the bond Alice and Chloe share to awaken her, making she sees him as an older brother while developing into a brocon or something like that. Hell, you could use that to make him seem like an innocent guy who wouldn't harm a fly (by abusing the fact that his 'girlfriend's' little sister is treated as a real little sister by him or something.

THE LIMIT IS OUR CREATIVITY.

... Also I missed the implied being "not very nice to her sister" you mentioned, unless you mean the little sister saying something like "you're being much nicer than usual", which I thought was because the MC told Chloe to "be nice to your sister" and that she took this as literally be nice to her sister. I also assume that Chloe was stern with her sister as she, as the older sibling, had to take care of her and make sure she doesn't get in trouble. ...
It's a bit ambiguous, but it can be read that Alice is fearful of having disobeyed her older sister. She's run out of food, and doesn't know when her sister is coming home, but she's almost unwilling to violate the rule to leave the house because the implied punishment that will come with it, despite being motivated by worry about something bad having happened to her older sister. There's still a bit of wiggle room for whether Chloe is just incredibly strict and emotionally distant from her sister, or if she's actually abusive and neglectful. Or maybe we're over interpretting this interaction.

The only especially similar thing about them is the Lead system, and even that is not used the same way. Pixie companions have been in games for a long time since it's convenient to explain why they almost only interact with the player (they are small/the world at large doesn't know about them), the earliest example I can think of would be Navi from OOT but there might be earlier examples. Belle and Pixie also have quite different personalities, besides the insatiable hornyness. Fey is pretty much English vernacular at this point, I don't know exactly where it is sourced from but it's been in D&D since the 70's. Mind control is so common in porn games that it's a tag. It's not even used the same way - in CK it's just part of the plot, but LLtP uses it as part of the main mechanic of the game.

When I saw the lead mechanic I did think of LLtP (and truth be told it would be cool if it is used a little more like LLtP uses it in the future), but the other commonalities are pretty much porn game staples imo.
I'm with OfficialKeblo on this, the games do have several similarities. Not in the sense that this is a rip-off of LLtP, but the combination of gameplay and narrative elements that they have in common makes them more noticeably alike than any two other games because they're not just, for instance, a straightforward incest VN.

Commonalities:
Early plot advances significantly when main character encounters a powerful magic user (Morgana here, the crone in LLtP) who apparently gives MC mind-control related powers* and a horny fairy companion. Both games involve clue systems and advancing the plot involves investigating characters backstories and secrets. I'm not sure I agree with the assesment about the distinction between mind control being plot vs. main mechanic in the games, since both rely on a combination of mind-control and investigation to drive the plot. The character stat screen is pretty much the same between the two, with the boxes lighting up and Xs for points not yet available (Yes, this is very superficial, but I can't recall any other games that display these statistics exactly this way). Both games use map/roaming mechanics that involve several locations in town, then a slightly larger world map outside town (in itself, not particularly unique, but still something they share).

Granted, the further into the games you get, the more they diverge (e.g. property management in CK, LLtP is getting close to implementing a time limit and time loop for NG+). The plot and the characters are different enough between the two that trying to draw any one-to-one comparisons would be tenuous at best, like if i were to try to make direct comparison's between the Council in CK and the Fey Court in LLtP that would be an awkward stretch.

Overall, I'm not trying to categorically refute your statements. The shared elements between the games are good things for their individual games, making them more interesting and engaging. I thought there were parts of CK that reminded me of LLtP when I first started playing, and that was a positive.

Just a quick FYI to let everyone know that v0.2.1 has just been updated for and . Slightly smaller update this week as I get things ready for next week's MEET THE COUNCIL update, but I hope everyone enjoys!

As always, getting the update out on time on Sunday means that it will be released to the public on Wednesday morning :)

Regarding the release date being wednesday, if I'm correct in my memory, last update was released on a Tuesday. Was that something unplanned or anything like that? (I'm not talking about the 1.9 - which was released on a monday - but instead about the 2.0)

The last two weeks F95 mods have leaked the update early. You can tell if it's an "official" release or a leaked release by checking the "last edited by" in the bottom-right of the OP. If it says "a moderator" then you know it was done without my consent :)

Seeing what Arc has said so far it seems likely that you will be able to. Also I phrased like that because you mentioned shaping them into better people, which I quite like.

I kind of meant to say the same, we can't say for certain so it's pointless to argue.

As I said near the end of that bit, it might just be the typical inconsequential VN choice, also I don't think Arc really wants to/will write specific 'dark' versions of scenes. He(?) seems to prefer the main characters morality be decided by the actions taken in the 'open world' part of the game.

That's possible, although there are limits to just how much branching is practical, and if a hypothetical choice in that scene was to choose between asking Chloe if she's happy and something more selfish, choosing the selfish option shouldn't really lead to Shattering Alice without a further choice by the player. The more choices, the more branching and the more work it would take to make it all work. More choices are always good, but not always worth the work they would take to implement.

Depending on exactly how Awaken would work on a child, making her devoted to her 'big brother' could work as a path for her.

No, the limit is the amount of time in the day that Arc has to work on the game.

Well if that's true, it sounds like a mistake. Having how the player acts within scenes conflict with the choices he's made won't make for a good characterisation, it'll make him seem schizophrenic.

A thought and a Question on that. Leaving most scenes as "generic", while having the choice that leads to it effecting "alignment," and only with the scenes that "matter" at least to Arc(sense it is Arc's game and characters (right?)), having different dialogue and possibly eventually different imagery for those events could create a happy median I believe. Thats my thought and that leads to my question, Since I've only ever done little with coding and that was a long time ago, about 10yrs ago now, so I do understand the potential complexity of altering any code after the fact, but what I'm wondering if we're just talking about the time it would take to edit X number of characters dialogue options and the triggers for the individual choices or set of choices as well as X number of scenes. How long would that take in simple terms?
[And to clarify we're assuming in this hypothetical that Arc has already figured out which scenes are going to matter and which will be generic, and the different dialogue options (i.e. good, evil, etc) for the characters depending on there choices, so that already figured out and .docx and .ppt files are already prepped and pre-sorted.]

While I agree with (almost) everything, this I must challenge.
The limit for the game is Arc's time? Yes, obviously.
The limit for our imaginations is Arc's time? Well yes but actually no.

I wasn't saying I need to see any of what I said in the game, I was just saying what I'd like to see - and I knew full well that it probably would stay as what I'd like to see, few things in life go in the way you or me desire but we still have the right to dream about it.

Yesterday's update was weak, no h-scenes, no Awaken/Shatter events, some minor chat with "minotaur" girl and a long date with female cat creature so i guess zoophilia fans will be happy.
Act 1 finale was the game at it's peak with hot porn content, lots of mind control involved and some actually interesting story progression.

Not every update can have lots of porn. When would you start to work on the story? The story itself doesn't fall from the sky either. Unless you want it to be very flat like reading the newest playboy magazine. I was happy with this update. I'm sure the next one on sunday will have some smexy times again or at least a very good teasing.

More support means faster/bigger updates. As long as the creator is willed to deliver ofc. There are so many examples how too much money corrupts the mind if you look at other creators on Patreon.~
