From the research I've done, the problem seems to be with corrupted Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 runtime libraries. Ren'py doesn't have the ability to interact with your computer in any way that allows it to "break" the OS, so the corrupt MVC++ may have been a lurking problem that just exploded, or the result of a dodgy download or bad update.Looks like your game might have broke something in my OS because right now I've downloaded "Chasing the Cheerleader" and the game also refuses to start with exactly the same message as before.
