Given that the average review score on this site is 4.5, I shouldn't let a few bad reviews put you off. However fighting isn't really a major part of the game until Chapter 3, which is a long way in, and the fight scenes aren't animated unless my memory is at fault. So the game may not be what you are looking for.

I find that difficult to answer. He certainly increases in power as the game progresses, and he's very resourceful, but the game is much more about plot and characterisation - especially for Chapters 1 and 2 - than it is about combat. Have you read the reviews here? That should give you a better idea of the game than I can in a few sentences.

I agree with jahall, Chapters 1 and 2 are by far the vest of the game. Chapter 3 is... the author decided on introducing something new and that is... let's just say being course corrected away from, but would still be the source of many a bad review. But it takes a while to get there, so you should be good for now if you decide to continue playing
Kinda yes and kinda no. However Robin has a tendency to wing it without thinking. That ultimately bit him in the ass in an apocalyptic way.
Hello , I have save files from 0.17.1 version. I copied the save file in the new 0.20 game folder but when trying to loead the save in the game, i got a big error screen. Someone can help?

I've seen alot of people complain about ACT 3 and how all your girls were taken away from you and it's unsure if or how they would come back. For me this wasn't a problem, my girls were taken from me and now I control an army to fight and get them back? LETS FUCKIN GOOOOO!!!!! When ACT 3 was first introduced I was actually kinda hyped, the battle system was a bit basic and somewhat grindy but it gave you the sense of getting stronger like any game with a battle system.
My problem was when the dice based battle system was introduced, it just never felt like you could do anything to get stronger. You couldn't recruit more people to your army you couldn't make the people you did have get any stronger. At most you could get a tiny little buff if you ate the right food but that was basically worthless. The system wasn't about skill as no strategy had any real guarantee to succeed, it was all about luck. Sure there was a "win all battles" button but damnit I wanted to kick everyones ass! Not because I used the skip battle button but because I earned it! I wanted to feel like I won, I didn't care if I had to grind, I spent 10 hours grinding triple triad in FF8 in disk 1 just so I could body everyone and feel like I earned it!
From what I've read in the comments it seems like there is finally a way to make yourself stronger but it's basically just increasing your odds instead of giving you a reliable increase. I mean the easiest battle in the game when I left was basically you rolling d4s while your enemy had d6s and the enemy pretty much always rolled 5 and up so increasing your dice to d8s basically means your new enemies will have d10s and will always roll a 9 or higher. Increasing the numbers doesn't matter if the enemy always rolls higher than you. AND even if the game were perfectly balanced you could always get bad RNG and loose even if you had the perfect strategy, so again the dice battle system relies on luck and skill has almost nothing to do with winning.
I also saw that the dice battle system was supposed to make adding new content easier, and that makes sense. A good battle system can be easily scaled for harder enemies. The problem is that it has to be a GOOD battle system. From what I've seen in the comments most of the recent updates were about fixing the battle system. If the battle system needs 20 updates to git gud IT ISN"T A GOOD BATTLE SYSTEM. I mean look at ANY game with a battle system, we have 50+ years of them and guess what? Almost none of them use a dice based battle system. Even the ones that do, like D&D, still have modifiers. Sure you may roll dice for damage but if your stats are high enough then you get an automatic increase tacked onto every dice roll. Did you roll a 2 on your d6? Well your STR is 14 so add 2. Is that not enough? Well you have a talent that adds another 3 to STR checks, also you have gloves of the ogre that adds another 3 to all STR checks. In a good dice based battle system there were still ways to stack the deck in your favor to show that you were getting stronger. The way this games dice system worked seemed like you could be the strongest warrior on the planet but whoops you rolled poorly tripped on a rock and lost against the weakest enemy in the game.
So I just read the changelog of the most recent version and it seems like there were a lot of systems that just weren't working properly. That being said I still don't have any faith that the battle system is fixed, but I am downloading the newest version to give it a shot. I pray to any deity that will listen that it is at least functional, that you can win any battle so long as you have the right strategy/gear/stats. This is the last chance I give this game because if it isn't playable now, when the DEV is confident enough to be adding actual new content instead of battle system updates, then there is no hope for it.

I will not say you missed the point, BUT a lot of player left the game because it turned into a "turn based combat" game. I have played the game from day 1, nearly, and took a break when i got into act 3. I dont like TBC games, instead i could play battle games like WOT or WOWS. I started play CK again, when the battle system changed, so i could set it on autowin and the best character of the game came back, little wings, and the kids again. Remember, players have put a lot of efford into those kids. Some of the scenes with pixie i play again and again, she remind me of my own daughter when she was 4-5-6 years, a fearsome little one, hiding behind the door, but curious enough to peek, and her "like" sayings....
I may not like act 3, but act 1 and 2 are great, and if, one could just start all over again.
Its the 4th today, 20 days to x-mas. Remember to buy a nice precent to yourself

I do not care who agrees or not, this was honestly my favorite AVN game UNTIL Act 3! I found the total 360 the game went and the restrictions (cannot see your girls, children, get scenes, etc.) bad enough. Then the battle system, which is just horrendous and repetitive, I do not enjoy at all! Then when you do win the battles, what do you get as a prize? Head swaps with repetitive scenes and still restricted from seeing your girls, kids, progressing the story, etc.
If the battle system was fun, or less repetitive, or not as restrictive, then I guess it would be alright. You have to enjoy it and I hate it so much I quit playing this game and I quit donating to Arc. There are lots of good RPGs out there that do it so much better, the porn we are getting is head swapped nonsense, so I could just play a good RPG and not have the repetitive porn. What is there is anti-hot, anyhow.
I still cannot figure out what the thought process was behind this, then after receiving the feedback, the fact Arc Games keeps pushing and "improving the battle system" (when you have to revise it that much and it still sucks, it really sucks!). I was excited to find out what happened after ACT II, then this crap got deployed and I have not touched this game in many months.
The story and characters had me hooked, the scenes were hot, the MC cracks me up, I wanted to find out about Morgana. Then we got a F-Tier battle system / RPG game with turn-based-combat no one asked for or wanted. I guess if you like repetitive pixel RPG (TBC) content and repetitive rewards, play ACT III and love it. I get bored after the first fight and by the third fight I am shutting the game off!
You have to enjoy something to continue playing it and supporting it. I still have no clue what Arc was thinking or why he keeps trying to put lipstick on a turd! Ran out of ideas? Thought people would find it the next Super Mario Brothers? I could fire up my emulators and play Zelda, Final Fantasy, and many more games that are actually fun and not repetitive drivel.
You can make a game, do what you want with it. But when you have most people complaining about it and you keep trying to push it, I do not have to like it or support it. This game went from the best to one of the most boring, repetitive games and there is no real story progression.

And that's the main problem of the game.
If you love Act 1 and 2, then Act 3's style may not be your thing, and if you want a game of Act 3's style you'd probably have quit playing in Act 1 or 2. The ball got dropped pretty hard on the 'know your audience' front.

I realize this is an old post, sorry for revisiting it again, but can please explain to me what I have to do get to use the developer console and how to input the above command into it? again thank you for this wonderful game, and sorry for reviving an old thread.I really wouldn't advise trying to use the developer console for anything other than increasing your money at this point - anything else will almost certainly break something

personally i am sick and tired of seeing baby arm sized penises, it says to me the guys who like that kind of thing are compensating for the obvious and only reason. No offense meant at all, it's just not very realistic that almost every male in these avn's have to have ridiculous sizes.
