difference is, DarkCuckie has a 10 People Dev-Team, 30.000 more Subscribers and gets 50.000 - 150.000$+ per Month.

is Arcgames not a Single Dev + Volunteers/payed Content, with 6.300$ per Month?

Arcgames has more new Future Content and Characters Polls for higher Subscribers than DarkCuckie, DarkCuckie last Poll was 2020.

you mean like all Game-/ Developer?
It is an even harder problem to maintain a large dynamic Codebase, especially without real Documenting, Commenting and Unit Tests (a Notebook is not Documenting, Commenting is not Documenting).

is he a Python Developer?
because he could make more as Entry Level Python Developer(90.000 -130.000$ per Year in US) than on Subscribestar.
How long time have you been playing the game BTX19 - some of us have been playing it for abut 4-5-6 years, and he have turned the game to .......
There are no reason to change things that work fine, just for the sake of changing things - a lot of well working tings in the UI is now turned to crap, and he dont correct the errors and flores, he just make new changes with more failures. A lot of players give or have been giving feedback but he dont listen just made more and more changes turning the game to ...... And under those surcumstances you just stop give feedback.

There are no reason to defend the dev - let him give some explanation of the changes by himselv - but he dont.....

May you all have a nice weekend, and may YOUR god be with you :coffee: :)

how tf do i remove the fucking sound from text?
NeatPart.jpg

Jokes aside, one page ago someone described how to do in, but it requires using software to unpack rgy files. What I did, was to change text speed to maximum, in this way there is only sometimes (for longer text) single beep, but majority of the text sounds dissapear.

I played it 2-3 times (100%), and yes, at the Arc 3 the Minigame is a useless add-on, with probably Months Development Time.

I'm not a Subscriber/higher Tier Subscriber, therefore I see only the Main Quest and the Incest Winner Poll. And the Main Quest has the most Content. is the Incest content, the Mother&Daughter threesome? because in some Country's it is not Incest.

I don't have the Game Documentation, it is possible the Changes are for Future Content, but voting for the Main Quest, and blaming that the Game has more features is silly.

UI: I played it on PC, a little annoying but not bad, about Front-size I think it is Static, therefore only old Dialog is mismatched.

But I don't know Ren'Py, maybe it could have 'text.set_fontsize()', or it is Static in every Dialog (would be dumb, for Visual Novels).
There are no reason to defend the dev - let him give some explanation of the changes by himselv - but he dont.....
I only defended him against the comparison with DarkCuckie, everything else was more critic about Arc than defense.

about critic, Morgana has still only 1 Masturbation Scene, were the higher Tier Subscriber not interested in Main-Chars? And I know the Story, I mean as an Option.
... in this way there is only sometimes (for longer text) single beep, but majority of the text sounds dissapear.
is muting the Game not an Option? or is the Music/Sound good?

You could mute it, but then again I like to play with music. And to get rid of the sound you'd have to mute the whole game, because this sound is not pinned under any of avaible volume sliders.

ah Ok, I always mute the whole Games (VN) and have my own Musik on, but I'm weird and play this Games seriously.
And it is disappointing how little Stats grinding matters,
I mean no reward for e.g. Physical Grinding in Asteria's Main Quest (Martial arts was 'nice'), not even skipping the MC is 'Weak' Dialog.

Or are the Stats abandoned?

if this a Spoiler, sorry.

Well.. some quests have stat checks needed to advance, so I wouldn't say doing it doesn't matter. Luckily you can repeat every event unti you succeed. Also raising stats is not exactly grinding, more like doing usual quests. This aspect never bothered me.

Well, not really
the first levels for physical was more trivial grinding than a quest, later with Asteria it gets better... insight and Charisma are similar.

the biggest issue Arc has at this point is him reworking whole ass base systems, like new time slots, the new mode they added in the game engine, and the hidden voices rework and UI overhual. it breaks things.....every time. then it takes literal months to unfuck the shit while he does it with something else. it's like telling a kid not to put a fork in the electrical outlet only for them to immediately be like "i'mma do it anyway". it's almost tragic really.

Is anyone else having a UI issues on mobile? The dialog options seem to clip my screen and I cant change to window. I'm at the first part of the game so idk if it gets better with the later UI change.

I did recently start playing again and didn't have this issue before the latest update.

the dialogue options cliping off screen is just a semi recent bug overall not just mobile version iirc dont know about the window setting (and no the ui stays the same just 1 extra "fun" addition that blocks part of the dialogue with certain characters appears later on)

How much content was added since v20.5 to now? wondering if it warrants a replay yet
You can check the change logs on the front page for a full list.

But to answer your question, no. No it does not. I would also advise keeping that version handy as the current build had a ton of awful additions that lower the quality of the game.

yeah i check changelogs but it can be hard to quantify (if thats the right term) how much has actually been added, easier to just ask. and yeah ill keep around my old ver. if you dont mind informing me, what did they make worse? only thing i didnt like ingame previously was the battle system and the fact that after the world changed in the 3rd act or whatever you lost access (unless you had a save) to previous chars and events till the story caught up with them. it basically shrunk the sandbox down from a huge sandbox to a lil sandbox

All those problems are the same, not really made up for by the 3rd act additions. Similarly, you can see the communities displeasure with changes in the thread, but here's a mostly complete list of problems.

New, worse UI. Admittedly, I dont have first hand experience with this, but I hate when people mess with things like the UI. It very rarely grants tangible upgrades.

New timeslot system. Instead of the standard Morning-Afternoon-Evening you usually see in free-roam projects, we have an actual in game clock. This wouldn’t be so bad if it didn't halt the game so you can watch an animation of the time literally ticking down after every event. IIRC, even skipping only sped it up, whereas the previous system just jumped you to the next segment in the day as is standard.

There's new "visual novel" style text SFX that makes little beeps as the text scrawls for dialogue. Our dev even added unique sounds for each of the important characters. The problem is that all of these sounds are ear-grating and just sound like midi trash. There's no option to turn it off, so I resorted to unpacking the audio rpa and literally deleting the sfx to fix the problem. I was already unpacking because Benjamin Tissot's "Sexy" is the worst fucking music to pick for a sex scene, so I replaced it with much more fitting music of my own. (Stop fucking using that devs. Spend two minutes on dova-syndrome or something please I beg.)

None of those may bother you much, but it really grates on me personally. Add on to the fact that this takes away from time that could have been spent doing anything else, including simply writing the next bits of story, and it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth. The changelog may look like a lot has been added, but it took several updates for some characters to get micro-arcs that most devs would have done in a single patch release. Quantifiable progress has been replaced with inane aspects that are sidegrades at best and experience ruining at worst. Your mileage may vary, but I'm awaiting a serious update myself before playing on further.

thanks for the breakdown! personally i likely wouldnt care to much about the ui changes (to whatever it is, im used to bad ui) text sounds are mildly annoying though (didnt like em in princess and conquest but atleast that one also dropped a bunch of content when they added sounds). And yeah that timeslot change doesnt make sense to me and sounds quite annoying too, i guess the possible upside is you can do more events in a ingame day? though there was no issue with just advancing the date forward so yeah sidegrade at best, more likly downgrade.

it is annoying that so much time has been sunk into these unsubstanial changes esp considering the latest act (atleast when i played) was so barebones in terms of content ontop of locking you out of all the previous content

and it still barely has any more story other than "I wonder what happened to xyz character" and a few sex scenes that are there just for the sake of it.

I do not understand why the dev, since the game DOES in fact feature paradoxes, different realities and whatnot, did not just put a simple portal in idk, the basement of the manor or something that you can interact with and it sends you to the "past" right before the big segment that pushed the game into the war act.
