I’ve just reached Act 3 and, honestly, the game takes a turn — and not in a direction I’m enjoying.
I’ve seen talk of an overhaul, but I’m wondering if that includes a rework of Act 3. Right now, it feels like a completely different game set in the same world, and it’s made me hesitant to keep playing, which is a shame because I was really enjoying it up to this point.
I gave Act 3 a fair shot, but it’s just not my cup of tea. The new combat system, in particular, feels awkward and out of place. I appreciate that there’s currently an option to auto-win combat, but for me, that’s not the only issue. Even earlier on, the grind to buy and upgrade items was a bit much — though thankfully, there are laptop options to add money and crystals to skip that, similar to the combat auto-win. That said, it’s unclear how long those cheats will stick around since it mentions the money cheats are temporary (can’t recall if it says the same for combat). For comparison, when Harem Hotel evolved, it still felt like the same game — just with a shift in tone. It didn’t completely overhaul core mechanics or introduce features that felt like they were chasing a trend.
One small but important thing: I used the mod someone shared to remove that beepy notification sound, and in my opinion, it makes the game much more pleasant to play. That noise got pretty grating over time.
I hope future updates smooth out some of these rough patches because there’s a good foundation here, and it’d be a shame to see it get buried under clunky mechanics and unnecessary grind.
