I remembered this game existed. Shame. I used to like it, but act III was horrible, so I dropped it. Seems like so did the dev...
The Discord invites have all been canceled, he's banning anyone who even asks when, and in general, he's been very aggro since he started this "remake" project that just never came to fruition.
In short, yeah, he pulled a MoolahMilk. "No, I'm still making it, don't unsub!" "JK, I'll post two renders and a teaser next year, maybe."

Missed deadline number one. Last update was February. I don't know about you, but I've seen this one before.
You're right it's not technically "abandoned", but it doesn't need to be to earn that label. A few more months following this pattern, and we can slap the label on it officially.
Likely never at this point. We've gone from regular updates, even after switching to Subscribestar, to complete radio silence.
Do not give this project any money. Development has stalled for a long time now. You can check the thread to see proof.

gotcha, well honestly if he's so close to done then i think i believe it will be finished. i think that this project has gone on for so long that if he's close to completion it would be a bit strange for it to just, not be finished yknow. i personally couldnt comfortably say its abandoned given the context you just showed.
if it takes a long time, i understand why it sucks to pay him for it and people shouldnt tbh, thats not what was promised. dev is sucking here but like i think we'll get a finished product, just pretty late.

Wish I still had your optimism. This isn't this first time I've seen a game go through this pattern. Even if someone provided screenshots of the "work" being done, that wouldn't change my mind, as Ive seen that used as a delaying tactic repeatedly as well.
It's a shame the game is in the state it is in right now. Version 0.21 or so was really really good. But the last few updates have enshitified it really badly. The in game clock was screwed up and wastes your time now. The UI was horrificly butchered and now text routinely falls of the screen. And the godawful "vn beeping", which is just differently pitched Midi boops that need to be torn out of the game or disabled with a mod.
Usually, the dev doesn't make their game this unappealing to play before leaving it in limbo. That's a new one to this project.
