Well. there are some flaws in your analyze.
1. Graphics and rendering is the part that takes the most time when developing a good VN. Therefore A is the option that requires the least extra work.
2. Those who can live with option b and c, can definitely also live with option A.
3. Who in their right mind would pay to play a game/VN where they have to skip part of the game/VN in order to avoid stuff like incest?
4. All in all. It's only option A where everyone will be happy, so unless the dev. chooses option A, he will miss out on potential donors.

Many people I have seen who do not like incest hate the title "tenant" or "roommate" even worse because you will get paragraphs clearly meant to lay out plot points for related people but then they say:

because you are my tenant

as an explanation for why it is taboo and people might call the cops if they knew. Which honestly makes the premise so dumb it HAS to be more distracting than incest. IMO

So a. might have the lowest time cost yet it also has a HUGE impact of stupid on the story. Again IMO

The obvious alternative would be step-cest. Still somewhat taboo but not that taboo.

I agree with you on the landlord/tenant/roommate thing. That's just porn game slang at this point.

But to write even step-cest convincingly, you would need to re-write quite a lot of plot. In this particular game's case, it will be difficult because the MC doesn't really have a connection with the girls, apart from through their mother. And the relationship between the MC and the girls' mothers is also still fresh, so the step connection would be pretty weak.

The "beauty" of incest as a plot device is that the taboo is immediately clear and doesn't need any explanation.

I believe it's 5 days after "Advance Tier" So if I understood and calculated correctly. I should be sometime today.
