I loved the game even before April's character appeared. After all the changes, I got acquainted with the deleted scenes and I can say it’s not a big loss. Of course, there are people who really liked it and are disappointed. But there's nothing you can do about it. And the game is still just as good!

Well since 8 comes after 7, I guess 0.8.1a is better than 0.7
ricoh I've been following the discussion in this thread and on your discord channel for the past months, and since incest won't be avoidable anymore, and it looks like the MC will end up being father to all the teens and preteens in the town, I'm sad to say I'll be sending this game to the bin.
In the beginning incest was avoidable, as you could refuse to let MC have sex with his oldest daughter, when they learned she was his daughter. But with the last version (think it was 0.7) the incest part escalated and was no longer avoidable. Now it looks like the MC will end up being father to almost the entire population of teens and preteens in the town. That is too much incest for me.
I have to say I'm surprised, that you will spend months redoing all your work to please those who don't like loli content, but won't spend a week on making incest optional. It doesn't have to be a patch. It can just be a toggle button in the option menu. Optional incest doesn't require any rerendering like the resent aging up did. It's just different dialog.
I'm sad it had to end this way, because except for the incest part, I actually really liked this game and was thinking about becoming a supported. But that ended when the incest part escalated and you blank refusal of making incest optional. Making incest optional would make the game acceptable to A LOT more people.
With that I'll leave this thread and send the game to the bin.

On Day4 after you learn the relation between the MC and Emily, you have a choice to either continue doing things with her or stop doing things with her.
This choice appears when you go to the toilet.
If you do not want to do anything with her from the start, then do not "give her something to hold" when she gets into bed with the MC on Day1.
This comes at a cost though, as a lot of content will be locked (due to not enabling the choices to see it)
So if you do not make the choices to see incest, then you will not see half of the games content.
The rework was cancelled and the game is now as it was before (minus a lewd scene with one character)
Also the rework was not being done because some people didn't like certain content, it was being done due to what happened to another DEV in AUS.
However I later found out that I only needed to remove 1 scene for the game to be "safe" and prevent me from facing the same fate.
The game is mainly for that type of content, but you do however have a choice to not see that content.
If you're seeing incest, then you're choosing the options to enable seeing it.
However..
Towards the end of the game, it will be revealed that Katie is the MC's (half) sister.
As of 0.8.1a the incest is optional.

With optional, do you then mean like loosing out on 90% of the game, or different dialog? The first is not really optional IMHO. It's more like, if you want this cookie, you need to strip for me.
Well it's not 90%, but it is a fair bit, also there's different scenes/dialogue depending on what choices you make.

I was afraid that was the answer. For me that means that the game stays in the trashbin.
Well. It's hard to know how big the incest part is in a game until you have actually tried playing it. The dev's. are seldom very forthcoming with that kind of info. Beside that. I strongly doubt that anyone plays a game, just because it includes incest. A lot of other stuff has to be right too before someone sticks with a game and becomes a supporter of a game, but it only takes one wrong thing to prevent someone from becoming a supporter or ditch a game. At least I try the games before i sends them to the trash bin or become a supporter.
And for complaining. I don't see anyone complaining. I'm letting the dev. know why I won't be a supporter of his game. It's up to the dev to decide whether he believes that a change is worth the work or not. Ricoh is not the first dev. to reject a proposal from a potential donor, and he won't be the last. For me the rejections means less games to play. For the dev's. it means less money in the till.
And for the record. The proposal I've made only means different dialog. There are no new scenes etc. Just small differences in the dialog. Given Ricoh's latest statement about how incest can be "avoided" today, my proposal would probably mean less work than the current no incest path. Try think about that before you tag me as someone who is just here to complain.
That said. I did leave the thread when I said I would. I only came back because someone quoted my posts. So if you don't want to see me back. Don't quote my posts.

That is only a maybe.
The dev can
- a. take the time to make multi-dialogue on top of the same scenes for both incest and non-incest
- b. Gate the incest so it is not happening in the story played when you turn it off (This option is current and you miss content)
- c. make multiple dialogue and graphic changes to accommodate those who want all the content of the other path but more distinction than daughter swaps to tenant.
a. and c. take extra work (c. in particular) which delays even more. Delays can often cost a lot more lost subs than picking to remove a fetish. So if the option b. is not enough for those who so greatly dislike the incest fetish, it is a risk to alter methodology. As opposed to continuing as he has with what is already being followed and yielding subs.
MY choice if I was in that situation to choose would be no further risk on top of the delays already incurred. But that is me.

What? Plenty of people play VNs for incest. I want incest, non-con, sleep sex, anything fucked up you can explore in a VN that you wouldn't want to do in real life. I like VNs that are basically porn GTA. Just speak for yourself, and have fun finding something you enjoy. There's plenty of vanilla/spy thriller/superhero shit and new ones pop up every day.

Well. there are some flaws in your analyze.
1. Graphics and rendering is the part that takes the most time when developing a good VN. Therefore A is the option that requires the least extra work.
2. Those who can live with option b and c, can definitely also live with option A.
3. Who in their right mind would pay to play a game/VN where they have to skip part of the game/VN in order to avoid stuff like incest?
4. All in all. It's only option A where everyone will be happy, so unless the dev. chooses option A, he will miss out on potential donors.

As I've been writing many times now. I like basically the same stuff as you, except for the incest part, but I have a hard time finding a good game with that, which doesn't include incest, hence why I propose to make incest optional in a way that everyone can enjoy the full game without having to miss out on part of it because you either are an incest fan or dislike incest. Incest is one of the few fetishes, that can be made optional purely through different dialog for the same graphics.
I don't mind missing out.
Maybe someone can make a "non-incest" patch.
(All they need to do is remove the dialogue on Day4 where it's noted the relation between Emily+MC and then change "daddy/dad" to Landlord or whatever)
